Sorting my laundry out just now and hear a toddler outside. Take a look and grandmother (I think) walking toddler. Really cute. But she’s in her pyjamas and her dressing gown. AIBU to think this is odd?!

We are early risers so maybe that’s why I find this a little odd!?

Confused I couldn't get worked up about this at all. I'm still in my dressing gown, wouldn't think anything of going into the garden in it. In fact, I went out the front to get a bag out of my car earlier and chatted to my neighbour. She didn't seem perturbed

endofthelinefinally · 22/04/2018 10:14

Depends if they are in the street or their garden.

insancerre · 22/04/2018 10:14

I'm still in my dressing gown
What's wrong with it?
I'm not outside, granted
But so what?
How does it affect your life exactly if a woman is outside in her dressing gown at 10am?

Psychobabble123 · 22/04/2018 10:14

Oh and we've been up since 5 too but having a lazy start to the day.

peachypetite · 22/04/2018 10:14

Why do you care? People start threads about the most pointless things on here!

QuestionableMouse · 22/04/2018 10:18

I haven't even made it out of bed yet gasp!

If I didn't have to go shopping, I'd be spending the day in my Pj's. It makes absolutely no difference to anyone what someone else is wearing and you sound very uptight!

Allthewaves · 22/04/2018 10:19

i clean in my pjs so if not going out then i will stay in them all day

MrsJayy · 22/04/2018 10:20

Im still in my dressing gown i have been out in the garden a couple of times I can't get worked up about it least she isn't walking down the street naked.

jaseyraex · 22/04/2018 10:20

Hmm why do you care?

We're all still in pyjamas and dressing gowns in this house and we've been up since 6. It's Sunday! Most people's only day for being lazy. Leave the woman alone.

LanaKanesTerfyVagina · 22/04/2018 10:21

I'm standing in Macca Ds right now in my Muppets pj bottoms! (Was meant to go through the drive thru but the queue meant I would miss breakfast)

Who gives a shit what anyone else wears?
It's sunday morning, its hot....unclench!

Katyb1310 · 22/04/2018 10:22

Still in pjs here although we're not outside! I couldn't go out in my pjs.

MrsJayy · 22/04/2018 10:22

We have flats round about us women stand outside smoking/vaping go to bins hang out washing in Dressing gowns in ACTUAL public Shock

coconuttella · 22/04/2018 10:22

Unusual if public, but can’t get worked up about it. It’s only convention that dictates where we tend to wear pjs and dressing gowns. They’re not so different from conventional daytime clothes. If gm was in her garden, you’re definitely being unreasonable.

Purplerain101 · 22/04/2018 10:23

It’s a bit of an unnecessary judgement to make. Someone still in their dressing gown at 10am could be unwell, worked a night shift, had a terrible sleep with insomnia and woke up late etc. Or maybe (like most of us) just enjoy a relaxed morning on a Sunday. It could even be something as simple as she’s waiting for the bathroom to be free to shower and get ready if there are a few people needing to use it. It’s really not a big deal!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 22/04/2018 10:23

Who was in the PJ's Grandma or toddler or both?

If I'm having a bad day, I'll have a bath or shower, put clean jim-jams on and spend the day in them. I must admit I don't go outside.

Allmyshilldren · 22/04/2018 10:25

I’m reading this in my dressing gown, having just popped out to the garden in it to get some rosemary. Why would you get dressed if you don’t have to?!

DioneTheDiabolist · 22/04/2018 10:25

Not that odd around these parts. YABU OP.

I walk to work at just gone 7 eery weekday and I see loads of people in their PJs, putting the bins out or waving kids off or supervising dogs using the garden

WhatToDoAboutWailmerGoneRogue · 22/04/2018 10:27

What exactly is the issue here, OP? If I’m not going out, I’ll stay in my PJs for the entire day on my day off.

SparklyMagpie · 22/04/2018 10:30

God I live in my dressing gown Grin even if I'm dressed it goes straight on so I can get comfy if feeling a little cold.

I don't see what the big issue is?

abigailsnan · 22/04/2018 10:32

I never get dressed until dinner sorted and house tidied on a Sunday its a take it easy day.
During the week if I am not going out I wear one of my PJs all day I do however make sure they are nice ones just in case anyone calls unexpected.

allthegoodnameshadgone · 22/04/2018 10:35

I'm in Liverpool. I'm waiting for my daughter to finish her dance class so sitting in the car outside. I'm in leggings and a hoodie. (I've not yet had a shower - we had to be here at nine but I will when we get home)

People in jama's seems the norm here in some areas.

Can totally get it if your nipping the late night garage etc, etc lazy Sundays and running in a shop but yesterday I was in town, in Liverpool One and there were people in their dressing gowns and jama's. I hate it.
