Sorting my laundry out just now and hear a toddler outside. Take a look and grandmother (I think) walking toddler. Really cute. But she’s in her pyjamas and her dressing gown. AIBU to think this is odd?!

We are early risers so maybe that’s why I find this a little odd!?

It is utterly disgusting OP and l am afraid a sad reflection of the times.

Mrsmadevans Why?

SmurfOrTerff · 22/04/2018 10:54

I was stupid enough to put on a summer dress. Its now cold and raining. I am considering putting my pj's back on.

Perfect marathon weather here !

Too right. She should be sunbathing naked in this weather. None of this dressing gown shite. Grin

ScipioAfricanus · 22/04/2018 10:54

My son’s in his pyjamas here (admittedly still inside but I’d let him go into the garden if it wasn’t more trouble to then wash them - we wear pyjamas more than once, while other thread!) having a lazy day. Why not? I do not love people actually going out to the shops (eg supermarket) for a full on outing in pjs I’ll admit.

No it’s not. When I was little we used to go to my gran’s on a Sunday afternoon. My mum rarely got dressed in the morning and me and my siblings only did if the weather was fine and we could play out.

leccybill · 22/04/2018 10:54

Sunbathing naked? Bouncing with rain here!

Mrsmadevans · 22/04/2018 10:55

You missed my attempt at humour Rogue Grin

Dobbythesockelf · 22/04/2018 10:55

I am dressed but only cause my 3 year old insists on it. We have no plans till late afternoon so I'd have been happy to stay in my pjs till later. I went out the other morning to hang some washing out in my pjs, I don't think anyone died of shock. Does it really matter what other people wear. I am pregnant atm and I live in leggings and lounge wear unless I have to be somewhere important. I'd rather be comfy than anything else especially on a Sunday morning.

ourkidmolly · 22/04/2018 10:55

I find it strange to go into Mcdonalds in pjs. I'm a scruffer but wouldn't go into a restaurant, even a fast food one, in clothes that I've worn all night.

That'll teach me to open the curtains first before I MN. Sad

Slartybartfast · 22/04/2018 10:58

is president obama involved on this occasion?

TheHulksPurplePants · 22/04/2018 10:58

A grandmother and toddler in dressing gown & Pj's at 10 am on a Sunday? Not particularly odd. Certainly not worth starting a MN post about.

Now, if they'd been in ball gowns and tux with tails, THAT would be worth a MN's post.

Emma198 · 22/04/2018 10:58

Oh gosh. Get a life!

allthegoodnameshadgone · 22/04/2018 10:58

abigailsnan - shame on you in Liverpool if you don't have a full head of rollers in on a Saturday. I picked my non scouse ex up once from a football match in another city like that once and he was mortified. Refused to let me out the car at Sainsbury's to buy wine.

PickAChew · 22/04/2018 10:59

I often spend the first part of the morning cleaning in my jammies before having a shower and getting dressed.

I seem to recall a thread wherein a PJs wearer explained that the PJs she wears out and about during the day are not necessarily the PJs she wears to bed at night.

There are day wear PJs and night wear PJs apparently.

Juells · 22/04/2018 10:59

Stranger than the PJs and dressing gown are the 'fashion pyjamas' that used to be fashionable a few years ago. Definitely not for sleeping in.

KriticalSoul · 22/04/2018 11:09

why do you care what someone is doing in their own garden on a sunday morning?

i'm not dressed, nor is my 65yo mother, we're both sat here in our pj's drinking tea and playing games on the computer.

There are no laws that state just because you're awake, that you have to get dressed.. its sunday fgs.

Fundays12 · 22/04/2018 11:10

You would be horrified by me then my 18 month old was out playing ing he garden at 9 am this morning with bus sleepsuit, shoes and a jacket. He was desperate to get out to play so I let him.

Tunsey · 22/04/2018 11:11

Not uptight at all Smile. The grandmother was in her dressing gown and had taken the boy out for a walk. So, not in their garden. Understand lazy Sunday, I’ve had plenty of those. Just thinking that, for me, I wouldn’t go for a walk in jim jams and dressing gown. And, it does seem a bit odd for around here

Slartybartfast · 22/04/2018 11:16

shocking

GrumpyOldMare · 22/04/2018 11:16

Still in my pjs here and no intention of getting dressed until later when I pop round to my daughters' house. Often put the bins out in my pjs and no dressing gown. Shock horror!

Actually I may take my mug of tea into the garden and sit there for an hour.

Slartybartfast · 22/04/2018 11:17

seriously shocking
