To ask what handcream works!?

My hands are horrendously dry and cracked. The skin feels so tight and it’s split on my knuckle. I’ve tried loads (Aldi, Nivea, Neutrogena, Vaseline) and a more expensive Aveda one which worked brilliantly for a while but the magic didn’t seem to last.

Is there a perfect one out there before my hands turn to dust?

O'Keffe's Working Hands.

pinkmagic1 · 14/04/2018 19:50

Palmers cocoa butter, daily skin therapy concentrated cream is great.

ElspethFlashman · 14/04/2018 19:50

Try Aquaphor. If that doesnt work, nothing will.

snewname · 14/04/2018 19:51

Lotil cream.

The only thing that worked for me.

Schmoop · 14/04/2018 19:51

Norweigen formula

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 14/04/2018 19:51

O'Keffe's working hands is meant to be great. My hands are really dry & cracked due to washing my hands too much & the pharmacist recommended Aveno or O'Keffe's. The Aveno is currently working wonders for me, but will try O'Keffe's if it stops working!

I think My trusty sunflower hand cream, available at Superdrug is worth a try, made by the NHS and I like it

To ask what handcream works!?

I've worked my way through lots of hand creams and the best I've ever used is nourishing and repairing hand cream by Natura Siberica. I love their bath products too

LondonJax · 14/04/2018 19:52

I'd second O'Keffe's. I do a lot of gardening and have a craft based business so my hands dry out a lot. I've tried all sorts then found O'Keffe's and within a week my hands are smooth and the soreness has gone.

You only need a little bit, enough to just cover a finger nail or it feels sticky.

Their foot cream is fantastic too.

L'Occitane for Very Dry Skin
I also get the cracks in my skin but this really helps.
You should also try to see if you can find any causes of the dry skin.
I find if I use a certain brand of washing up liquid they don't get as bad

thesparkthatbled · 14/04/2018 19:52

E45 all the way.
Or Palmer's cocoa butter one at a push.

wolfmom · 14/04/2018 19:53

Best I have ever used is udder cream. No greasy residue either

bigchangesabound · 14/04/2018 19:53

I have recently bought the body shops hemp hand cream and it has worked wonders. My hands were so dry they were cracking and very sore. This really helped.

Sparklywolf · 14/04/2018 19:53

I second Palmers, I work in care and wash my hands a gazillion times a day, it gets rid of the first signs of dryness and they feel soft for hours after application.

SleepFreeZone · 14/04/2018 19:53

Kiehls.

Pikehau · 14/04/2018 19:53

Keihls ultimate strength s great for fore cracked hands.

Clarins Just lovely.

I also hear v good reviews on Oskia

I have just bought some Eucerin which has eurea in it for my cracked hands to try a more affordable one.

Good luck!!!

thesparkthatbled · 14/04/2018 19:54

Also, for cracks I also find using sudocreme last thing at night works wonders. Although it does make your hands smell like a baby's bum

Nevercallmehun · 14/04/2018 19:56

I like Atrixo but find O'Keefe's next to useless on my hands. Aveeno is good too and Crabtree & Evelyn's Gardener's Handcream.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 14/04/2018 19:57

Aveeno always works for me

Rainysummersday · 14/04/2018 19:57

Soap and Glory’s Hand Food

MustBeThin · 14/04/2018 19:58

If you use antibacterial handwash then switch it to one without. I had terribly dry hands before Christmas and no hand cream helped at all and I also used all of the "moisturising" antibac handwashes. I decided to try Dr Bronner liquid soap and within 2 days my hands were super soft and have been ever since.

Nonotmenori · 14/04/2018 19:58

Aveeno is working wonders for me. If you're a member of Costco they have 3 big bottles for £6.

NewYearNewMe18 · 14/04/2018 19:59

L'occitaine does nothing, neither does Crabtree and Evelyn. What is brilliant is Primarks own £1 tubes. Amazing stuff

Acopyofacopy · 14/04/2018 19:59

Another vote for the Body Shop hemp cream here. It does the job when my hands crack and bleed.

EthelHornsby · 14/04/2018 19:59
