I’m in NW, due to fly to Edinburgh tomorrow.Weather reports look horrendous but I feel bad! The same flight this morning was delayed 3 hours anyway!

Christ no. You'd be mad to go.

CurlsLDN · 27/02/2018 19:31

Is it an amber weather warning where you are or where you’re going? If so, don’t do it, it’s not worth it.

bubblybrit · 27/02/2018 19:40

Please don’t fly to Edinburgh unless absolutely essential. I don’t live that far from Edinburgh and the weather is horrendous right now with the expectation that it will be worse overnight. Amber weather warnings still in place with a number of local schools closed.

Namechange101110 · 27/02/2018 19:41

Humza Yusef's been on the TV all day telling people not to travel in the amber zone unless you really, really have to. Apparently we're just of the cusp of being upgraded to a red warning, which is risk to life.
I'd just stay at home and watch box sets if I were you Grin

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 19:42

Thanks. Hate letting people down but i’ll Just dial in instead.

I live in Edinburgh and it's shocking here, hail and snow and well below freezing. I wouldn't come unless you have to!

Seahawk80 · 27/02/2018 19:44

Don't go! My in laws went to Glasgow for a day for a family reunion in December even though the flight out was delayed 2 hours. I thought they were mad....they got stranded and had to get a (v expensive) train back!

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 19:44

Even in MCr where I am, the side roads were pretty treacherous today, though fine when you get on the main roads. As I said just feel.a,bit bad but I suppose there’s every chance my Scottish colleagues won’t make it in either!

A risk to your life? 😂😂😂
It's a wee sprinkle of snow for fuck sake. Get a grip!
And yes I live in Scotland.

HollaHolla · 27/02/2018 19:52

I’m just outside Edinburgh. It’s snowing, yes, but I’ve just been to my Pilates class and Tesco and it’s fine. Up to you, but it’s nowhere near as bad up here as it’s been in other parts....

dinosaursandtea · 27/02/2018 19:54

Edinburgh isn’t that bad now, but it’s meant to be heavy snow tomorrow....

BoilYerHeid · 27/02/2018 19:54

It's really not that bad! Confused

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 19:56

I’m flying- so main concern is delay not getting back. Think I’ll see what the night brings....l

MissMudskipper · 27/02/2018 19:58

I’m in Manchester (well suburb of) and there’s no way i’d be flying out to Edinburgh tomorrow!! Not a chance!

Youngmystery · 27/02/2018 20:05

Just see what it's like in the morning and if your flight is cancelled. If its not, that tells you all you need to know really.

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 27/02/2018 20:14

I’m disappointedly looking at the gradually improving weather forecasts, dammit, I wanted a cast iron excuse to cancel a pointless meeting and work at home tomorrow Sad

MoorMummy · 27/02/2018 20:20

😂😂😂 where are you slightly .

I’ve just checked the evening flight back from Edinburgh and it’s showing well over two hour delay back already, so reckon I’ll be giving it a miss.

Do keep up the regular Edinburgh weather updates though!

Slightlyperturbedowlagain · 27/02/2018 20:28

North England, now just outside the yellow area on the snow warning Envy

Mossend · 27/02/2018 20:29

The snow isn't that bad here just now, but we are going to be on Amber alert with the chance it could be upgraded to red tomorrow morning.
I've been advised there is a good chance the schools will be off tomorrow and that hasn't happened where we are for 7 years.

Willow2017 · 27/02/2018 20:35

Amber alert in Scotland with possibility of it going to Red at some point over night. Its horrendous in Borders at the minute and getting worse, all schools are closed tomorrow and probably thursday.
Just stay home Grin

DrWhy · 27/02/2018 20:39

I’m with busted I live in the NE of Scotland, have a 4 day long trip to London this week. Flight was totally unaffected on Monday. DH seems to be coping just fine and even London hasn’t ground up a halt with their light dusting of snow. I’m hoping that the flight home on Thursday will be fine but frankly I’m more concerned about the risk to life of terrorism in London than snow in Scotland!

MabantoMoonface · 27/02/2018 20:45

Don't go - play the 'safety must be the number one priority' card.

The threat of snow has kept me home for days now. It's brilliant

Heatherbell1978 · 27/02/2018 20:51

I'm phasing back to work right now after mat leave and the next 2 days I'm meant to be in work but my company are saying 'don't travel'. I'm desperate to go in!! I'm enjoying the adult time l😩

DragonNoodleCake · 27/02/2018 20:57

I'm in the office in West Lothian- not much snow out there. As long as it doesn't get heavy until after 3am 😀. I'm here til 2am and have 26 miles to drive home.

Elektro · 27/02/2018 21:01

The flight may even get cancelled. I'm in Newcastle and it was FAR worse last month so I don't really understand the massive fuss in comparison to the last bout of snow. However if it's non-essential, I'd not be going. Definitely not.
