To think the BBC has lost the plot ...

Just watching the first episode of Hard Sun. Complete crap, and not the first crap drama we've seen on the BBC recently.

Yet we've seen some fantastic original drama on Netflix.

Sad, sad, sad. Please BBC, sort yourself out.

I really enjoyed hard sun, me and DH binge watched over the last couple of weekends. I’ve heard a lot of people rave about it too.

I quite enjoyed Hard Sun. It wasn't the best drama ever, but it made a change from the usual crime dramas, and shite like Silent Witness.

Mcmafia was brilliant. I don't think the BBC deserve a total slating.

Yes I liked Hard Sun - it was a bit daft but enjoyable daftness

also love McMafia, The Fall, Line Of Duty etc

I think the BBC does good stuff on the whole

Collateral is shaping up. And the excellent Charles III last year. There’s lots of good stuff.

'Clique' was the last one we watched. That was shit too. Designed to shock, but intellectually well below par.

I like most BBC dramas but I found Hard Sun a bit far-fetched and simplistic. I thought Requiem was even poorer.

Collateral is good so far. Haven't watched McMafia yet.

I'd say the BBC does drama very well, halfway through Hardsun & quite enjoying it, Requiem is also shaping up nicely along with Collateral-on that basis YABU.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a big natural supporter of the BBC. Will always give it the benefit of the doubt. But it's just not measuring up. It's self conscious and over-pretentious, over-shocking, and underwhelming.

I liked Hard Sun. Why would everything you watch need to be intellectual? I also watched Altered Carbon on Netflix recently, it was at least as stupid as Hard Sun. I also enjoyed it less.

On Netflix, loved 'Alias Grace' and 'Stranger Things' and 'Series of Unfortunate Events'. Also loved 'The Handmaid's Tale' on C4.

Glad someone mentioned Requiem. I binge watched that over the weekend. It scared the crap out of me and whilst it may not be terribly intellectual it was really well acted and had me totally gripped.
