Just watching the first episode of Hard Sun. Complete crap, and not the first crap drama we've seen on the BBC recently.

Yet we've seen some fantastic original drama on Netflix.

Sad, sad, sad. Please BBC, sort yourself out.

So how do I get to see it now it's no longer available on iPlayer? Have they sold it to some subscription service now, and if so which one? I didn't watch it at Christmas because I wanted to read the book first, but, now I'm ready to watch it, it's disappeared.

I enjoyed watching The Good Place on Netflix - definitely NOT intellectual!

However, I also enjoyed Stranger Things, so maybe I'm not entirely thick.

I really liked Hard Sun. It got much better after the first episode.
I don't think I'm entirely thick.

Nobody does, do they. Yet many people are quite clearly becoming complacent about the quality of BBC drama.

OYBBK, no, sorry. You're a 'thickie' just like me! Wink

I think that anyone who wants to watch The Miniaturist must be a bit thick. You know, cos I didn't like it much. Innit.

What else should us thickies watch?

How to get away with murder has lost it, I fear. Started off so well.
Scorpion I enjoyed - waiting for another season.
White Collar I enjoyed (especially the eye candy)
Suits was great, but another one I don't think is as good now as it was.
The OA - weird but good.

I did like The OA.
Bit of an oldie now but Les Revenants was excellent.

DH and I enjoyed Hard Sun (2 degrees and a masters between us - does that qualify us not total thicko's OP?).

I think BBC dramas are on the whole pretty good (Line of Duty, Luther and Musketeers to name 3 excellent drama's). However their nature programs alone justify the license fee, they are outstanding.

How long can it take to read the miniaturist? It’s not War and Peace. I read it in a day. But I probably didn’t engage with it on the same intellectual level as someone like the OP. Maybe it takes a lot longer when you’re really clever. 😂 Stuff on the iplayer stays for 30 days. It’s gone until they next decide to rerun it or sell it on I suppose.

OP why are you calling people thick because they like a different series to you?

Not using seatbelts in a car - thick

Liking something else to you????
Why can't we all get along.
Anyone want to hold hands and sing kumbayah?

The Miniaturist was not really good.

It looked amazing and this was enough for about 30minutes for you not to notice that the plot was crap.

However eventually it was unavoidable that the plot really, really was tosh.

Lovely dolls house and miniatures though.

Dumbed-down sensationalist drama, for thickies.

Gosh. How very eloquent.

I'll hold hands, so long as you've all washed your hands first - there's a D&V virus going round you know.
