I've always thought marks and spencer do the best baby grows and sleepsuits. Friend says i am being a snob and should consider asda, tesco or other cheaper brands. Am i being a snob? I don't think they are too much cheaper and m&s quality is just better.

Imo Primark do fab tiny baby stuff. They out grow them before they wear out anyway!!

It doesn’t really matter, they wear them for such a short time and get covered in poo stains.

I think there are a lot of places that do better clothes than M&S so no, I don’t think you are a snob for buying from there. However, supermarkets do a wide and colourful range of baby clothes. When you take into account that they often outgrow the clothes within weeks anyway, and assuming you are always buying new, it doesn’t matter if the quality is not as good.

Have you got any asda/tesco ones.... they're actually really good quality for the price. I had some M&S and they weren't any better than the supermarket brands. (some years ago now!!!)

I don’t shop for clothes at Primark, Asda or Tesco either.

I really like the vests and sleepsuits from m&s! Not so keen on the clothes. I get most things second hands, but vests and sleepsuits always from marks.

I found the m&s ones washed well and had lots of room compared to mamas and papas which is more expensive if i remember correctly.
Whoami no i didn't buy from the supermarket as i thought the tesco material was a little rough.

I don’t think you’re being a snob. You like what you like but in terms of if they’re the best you’re probably paying over what you would elsewhere for the same or less quality items.

Not true, people kept telling me my DS would be in newborn for 5 minutes but was in it for 6 weeks Grin

I agree OP, either that or Next. I don't like cheaper things for pjs. But that's just me.

I'm very fussy about what my DC wears.

I do like the M&S sleepsuits and if that’s what your child mainly wears then go ahead. If they don’t wear baby grows in the day I’d go for a cheaper option elsewhere wit the same quality and use the money for nicer quality clothes.

Oh and just to add, good quality, comfy Sleepsuits for the day are the best way to go!

No need for all those outfits earlier on.

My in laws don't like my sleepsuit choices but I don't like what the cheap and awful stuff they put on their DCs Grin

Personally I think if you are going to buy from supermarkets the. Sainsbury's is the leader in my mind. From buying/ being gifted... we found Tescos sizing runs very small, Asda poppers aren't great quality and Morrisons the material is a bit rough. Whilst I definitely think our M&S and John Lewis sleepsuits are genuinely better quality, Sainsbury's has been good for making sure we have enough clothes during periods like now when our little pickle can go through 4 or 5 outfits a day easily from vomit or 'other fluids'. 🙈🙈 Their stuff is reasonably priced and soft with good fastenings, winner for me!

I always preferred the ones from next, they seemed to fit dd better, washed well. Asda ones were always too long weirdly. But she had a mixture, I couldn't afford to dress her only in next clothing!

M&S is one of my fave places for baby clothes, I actually think it’s really reasonable and not much more expensive than Asda etc. I don’t see it as snobby to shop there as it’s genuinely good value for money. Places like mamas and papas yes, even though the clothes are beautiful they are extortionate and come up really tight.

I do think the M&S baby clothes wash well, and always buy their vests. Unfortunately DH banned the sleepsuits because in each pack there are some that don't button straight down the front Angry

Tesco ones were shit and got holes in after a few wears, I won’t make that error again. M&S or John Lewis all the way and I’ll be reusing them all for the next baby.
