To actually despise the school run....

Ive been sitting here after I’ve finished work thinking how amazing it feels to not have to do the school run . No dealing with the cliche mums who stand and judge others ( if your gonna do it maybe don’t do it so obviously) or the ones with pushchairs who annoyingly block the path with other mums because they just need to have that little mothers meeting right in everyone’s way because go forbid the extra 10 secs it takes to move out of the way so others can get past.
Or the Mum who lets the little one ram into peoples legs on his little trike and not say anything to him. I don’t miss the loud one who talks really loud so everyone can hear her business, even over my headphones with full volume rock.
Anyone else hate the school run..... I’ve still got another 6 years of it 😭😭

I don't despise it (I used to when I didn't drive and had to walk 3 miles round trip in all weathers with what felt like a million kids) but theyve recently mixed up my son's year group so I dont know the mums in DS's class anymore very well and had to stand outside after school the other day while every boy in the class got handed an invitation except mine - that hurt a bit (me more than DS to be fair)

@justmethenhuh
I didn’t have any problems at school. I had 3 different friendship groups. Plus the ones from scouts and the neighbourhood kids. Social interaction isn’t a problem. It probably doesn’t help I’m an intense people watcher so I literally notice everything. My step mum says that even she has groups of bitchy people at her kids school ands she talks to a lot of people. I don’t mind talking I just don’t put myself out there. Keep myself to myself it’s just certain things that make the school run unpleasant in my opinion. I’m not alone by the looks of it. Got quite the mixed bag of replies

My firstborn has only been at school for 18 months and I fucking hate standing in the playground. During Reception, everyone made an effort to be friendly and chat with each other and were lovely. My mum came with me once and said "Oh, you chat to people? I always used to stand on my own". My first thought was "FFS Mum!" but now that's what I do. By the summer term of Reception I really started to notice a certain group of mums no longer made the effort to chat to anyone but each other. One even turned as I arrived and fucking sneered, no doubt extremely disappointed to see me and not one of her alpha mum mates. Fuck that.
