This is a joke surely

IndigoMoonFlower · 08/02/2018 12:10

Knock them off with a broom handle and catch them in something soft. or phone a friend nearby?

IndigoMoonFlower · 08/02/2018 12:11

Have a cold bath to bring your temperature down and go back to bed?

grannytomine · 08/02/2018 12:12

I think it depends how ill you are and what the meds are. If you have pneumonia and you are going to miss a dose of antibiotics it is a bit different to you have the sniffles and want a Lemsip.

Hope you are feeling better and that he is home by now.

shakeyourcaboose · 08/02/2018 12:14

Hoping op hasn't fallen off the chair....

grannytomine · 08/02/2018 12:16

shakeyourcaboose, I did think about that when people kept saying stand on a chair, might not be safe if you are really unwell.

TheOrigRightsofwomen · 08/02/2018 12:24

I was thinking that the OP could call her DP and while on the phone stand on the chair to get the meds. He'd then know if she'd fallen (unlikely, but at least he'd be able to call for help).

Or call a neighbour. If the OP is so vulnerable that she can't take basic care of herself I would have expected her to have more contingency plans in place (neigbours etc).

shakeyourcaboose · 08/02/2018 12:29

Am hoping all ok Op, but lesson from this in that top of cupboard NOT good place for meds if you cant reach. If they need locked away or out of reach of children, maybe get a lockable box and can then be easier to reach?

ilovesooty · 08/02/2018 12:31

He'd never live that down at work.

NotACleverName · 08/02/2018 12:32

Have your arms and legs dropped off? If so YANBU. Otherwise just stand on a chair.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 08/02/2018 12:37

YABVU. You can’t call him at work and ask him to come home because you “can’t reach”. Stand on a fucking chair, woman. Or, to solve this problem in the future, get a step stool.

Tarraleaha · 08/02/2018 12:37

I was thinking that the OP could call her DP and while on the phone stand on the chair to get the meds
not a bad advice at all if the OP has the flu or it makes her feel safer.

SilverySurfer · 08/02/2018 12:38

Ha ha very funny OP, unless you were serious, in which case of course YWBU not to mention ridiculous - I can't believe you would even consider this.

moolady1977 · 08/02/2018 12:42

Well that went great after all the posts saying climb on a chair to get them I did just that and went dizzy while I was up there and ended up sat on the kitchen counter which is where dp found me when he walked in from work I got a rocketing for climbing while ill and asked why I didn't ring him, he got the same rocketing for putting the meds up high. To make matters worse he has gone back to work laughing about me sat on the worktop and has rang my parents to come over and sit with me for a while, oh and my meds are now in the drawer next to my bed

WitchesHatRim · 08/02/2018 12:44

Yeah right ok Hmm

Liskee · 08/02/2018 12:44

Alls well that ends well then.

Orchardgreen · 08/02/2018 12:45

And breathe........

Notevilstepmother · 08/02/2018 12:45

So you could have rung your parents who are not at work. That might have been better.

Begrateful · 08/02/2018 12:46

Hopefully he won't move your meds out of reach again.

BritInUS1 · 08/02/2018 12:46

Well you didn't say you were too ill to climb on a chair otherwise no-one would have advised it !

Nottheduchessofcambridge · 08/02/2018 12:46

Yeah...right.....that happened.

InsomniacAnonymous · 08/02/2018 12:49

Good grief.

Bluntness100 · 08/02/2018 12:49

Okdoke.

coffeeforone · 08/02/2018 12:49

Are you otherwise healthy and mobile OP? I'm a bit confused by this thread. And why on earth meds are kept so far out of easy adult reach?

I'd suggest rearranging your cupboards once you feels a bit better to avoid future dilemmas like this.

Hope the meds work
