Men not wearing socks

Not really an AIBU I suppose, but what is it with this latest fashion of men not wearing socks?
Don't their shoes smell?

I'm with you. I don't know about the shoes smelling but the "fashion" of it makes me cringe. I just couldn't take a man seriously without socks, I don't know why. Especially if the trousers are short and you can see their ankles.

mumpoints · 26/01/2018 22:58

It looks very silly! Like they have just slipped on shoes to take the bins out or something!

Tanfastic · 26/01/2018 23:01

I’m not keen.

They’ll look back in a few years.....😳🙄

mumpoints · 26/01/2018 23:06

Trousers have to be short partly to show off the en point lack of socks, but also because the fashion industry has to make its money somewhere and losing the socks wasn't a money spinner.

idontlikealdi · 26/01/2018 23:25

I’m torn, sometimes it can be ok - South of France on a yacht. O2 on a bleak January night not so much.

mumpoints · 26/01/2018 23:27

Yes but they'd be deck shoes wouldn't they? Not supposed to be worn with socks. The fashion for dress shoes without socks is weird.

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2018 23:28

YY formal shoes with no socks just looks horrible. Sweaty feet and blisters surely?

Idontdowindows · 26/01/2018 23:32

I've seen them around and it makes me boak :(

Then I firmly believe men's feet should be in socks at all points in time.

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2018 23:33

Me too Idont. I hate seeing feet in general but mens' feet-bleurgh.

Heratnumber7 · 26/01/2018 23:36

Glad its not just me then.

Two of the CBB evictees this evening were not wearing socks, and it just loo!s so silly. Also, it's January ffs!

I despise this look. Properly fills me with irrational rage, especially when it’s smart business shoes.

Heratnumber7 · 26/01/2018 23:38

I suppose "this too shall pass". I flipping hope so anyway.

FannyWisdom · 26/01/2018 23:38

Just gonna ask if you were botsing Hearat.
It makes me want to kick their ankles.

Heratnumber7 · 26/01/2018 23:39

Botsing???

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2018 23:39

Bit on the side?

AskBasil · 26/01/2018 23:40

It looks uber-wanky on uber-wankers

Idontdowindows · 26/01/2018 23:40

Me too Idont. I hate seeing feet in general but mens' feet-bleurgh.

thank goodness, kindred spirits!

Heratnumber7 · 26/01/2018 23:41

Ah! No. Can't stand Rylan.

OP posts:
windchimesabotage · 26/01/2018 23:41

I liked it in the most recent bond movie (spectre) that the male villain showed his evilness by not wearing any socks with his loafers. It gave off just the right amount of creepy unhinged vibe....

Sparklingbrook · 26/01/2018 23:42

I love Rylan. Blush

Biffsboys · 26/01/2018 23:44

I’ve not seen BB but from what I’ve seen it’s not ‘men’ it’s teenagers and maybe early 20s . My ds looks like he’s not wearing socks but does have trainer socks on ?

FannyWisdom · 26/01/2018 23:44

Rylan is on thin ice.
He's letting the yobs off lightly and allowing Andrew's fucking ankles on TV.

Scrapper142 · 27/01/2018 00:00

Been a massive issue for me since it became fashionable. It actually physical repulses me, my body tenses up if I see it. It's the hill I'm willing to die on in terms of attractiveness (that and being shorter than me, obvs!)

fatPam · 27/01/2018 02:54

You mean like women?
