Basically strictly come dancing is at my local arena tonight.
I really want to go (and tickets left )
Nobody wants to go,not even if I buy the tickets.
I’m a 32 year old woman and here I am scared to go in case people think I’m a looser...would you just go?
Or skip?

Bluedoglead · 23/01/2018 13:09

Go, I’m jealous!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 23/01/2018 13:09

So you're in Newcastle? Maybe you can find someone on here in the same situation who wants to go and go together?

donners312 · 23/01/2018 13:09

I would think you were confident not a loser!

Go!! (very jealous!!)

Louise3445 · 23/01/2018 13:10

You are 32. Don't you think that you are a little bit old to be caring about what other people think?

KatnissMellark · 23/01/2018 13:10

Definitely go!

Louise3445 · 23/01/2018 13:10

I know I’m stupid for even caring.
I spend my life worrying what others think.

Go! Enjoy yourself. You'll be kicking yourself watching it on TV, wishing you were there. Have fun!

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2018 13:11

Go. The SCD tour is brilliant. Will anyone even notice you are on your own. They will be too busy watching the show.

RoseWhiteTips · 23/01/2018 13:11

Everybody worries what other people think even those who tell you it’s odd.Hmm

Go!

MikeUniformMike · 23/01/2018 13:12

Go. You'll be fine. Enjoy it.

Louise3445 · 23/01/2018 13:12

It’s on tomorrow (2 shows) so I can always book tomorrow night and I have 24 hours to get my confidence up !!

thegrinningfox · 23/01/2018 13:13

Go! Def!

Grilledaubergines · 23/01/2018 13:14

Go! Absolutely. And once you e done it the first time, it's actually quite a liberating feeling. I remember with some shame now, the first time I sat in a coffee shop alone. I bigged it up and felt nervous going it. Felt brilliant after though. It was only a small thing in the grand scheme but if you feel self-conscious it's amazing. If I ever see someone alone at something big like a concert or whatever, my only thought is "good on you".

Grilledaubergines · 23/01/2018 13:15

Don't book tomorrow night as that gives you time to talk yourself out of it. Strike whilst the iron is hot.

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2018 13:15

If I was in Newcastle I would come with you. Grin

TBH going to a show alone means no waiting for anyone, no worrying if they are enjoying it, straight home after. There are definitely plus points!

theDailyShow · 23/01/2018 13:19

The questions isn't whether you'd be a looser but if you care.

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2018 13:20

Doing stuff on your own is great. I hate going shopping with other people now and i love sitting in a cafe or a pub on my own.

I do loads of stuff on my own by choice. Grin

MissionItsPossible · 23/01/2018 13:21

Loser, not looser! Two seperate words!

Willswife · 23/01/2018 13:22

Go. I remember going to the cinema alone for the first time, felt odd before I went but it was great!

Go and enjoy yourself!

morningtoncrescent62 · 23/01/2018 13:24

Do it, OP. I go to loads of stuff on my own, including holidays as well as theatre, cinema etc. The first couple of times I was convinced everyone was pointing and talking about me, but after a while I realised that they really aren't interested, they're there to enjoy themselves. And if anyone is by any chance thinking I'm a loser, well, let them think it - their opinion doesn't make any difference to me.

I'm with the pp who said go tonight rather than give yourself time for second thoughts. Enjoy!

Sparklingbrook · 23/01/2018 13:24

I wondered how long it would take, even though everyone knew exactly what the OP meant. Hmm
