With no notice at all - effective immediately.
I have very limited funds & have always used my points for family meals out (birthdays etc).
Previously your points were worth 4c now ‘to make things easier for customers ‘ everything is now 3x value

yYANBU, I might look into nectar points instead

UnsuspectedItem · 16/01/2018 17:50

Yes this pissed me off too. I've been saving mine so the no notice thing has stuffed me up

ginghamstarfish · 16/01/2018 18:16

Nectar points are much worse, I think it equals 0.5p/£, ofen can't even be bothered to get my card out on the rare occasion I'm in Sainsburys.

Butterymuffin · 16/01/2018 18:18

Make things easier for customers, my arse.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 16/01/2018 18:22

You’re getting pissed off about somebody changing a free perk?

They owe you nothing. They could cancel the scheme with no notice should they desire.

Sharkofdestruction · 16/01/2018 18:23

To be fair, they do not have to offer the increase in value of points at all.

But I think that YADNBU, I will have to take one less person to pizza express. Probably DH......Grin

Dont care about the vouchers value

They need to reduce it..its their scheme

Not keen on being lied to by companies trying to save money

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 16/01/2018 18:25

Maybe i will cancel my credit card and get a john lewis one instead Grin

WaggyMama · 16/01/2018 18:26

The good old days of clubcard is over, which in a way is good as I don't have to be loyal now.

And like above I never bother with the Nectar card now either.

VivaLeBeaver · 16/01/2018 18:27

Fair enough to change it going forward but they should have honoured the old system for stuff already accrued. Shady.

SuburbanRhonda · 16/01/2018 18:28

They owe you nothing. They could cancel the scheme with no notice should they desire.

You’re out of step with what the general public and people like Martin Lewis are saying. Tesco should have given their customers some notice so they could cash in their vouchers under the terms and conditions they were issued.

Namechangeagain101 · 16/01/2018 18:29

@IncyWincyGrownUp

Yes - of course they don’t have to give anything but then their valued customers don’t have to shop there.
It was the no notice period that I am particularly pissed about & their complete bullshit that this is for the customers benefit

YABVVVU to complain about something free fgs.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 16/01/2018 18:32

I completely agree with you namechange

We will just use them up sooner rather than later

We spend shedloads on our credit card Sad

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 16/01/2018 18:35

They may not owe you a loyalty scheme but surely in return just find somewhere else to shop.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 16/01/2018 18:37

I agree, it’s shit that they changed it effective immediately - I thought they’d say “from your next club card statement” or after you’ve used the points you already have or something. Bastards.

Still not as shit as nectar though!

Bluelady · 16/01/2018 18:42

Which is precisely why they did it with no notice. JL credit card points are rubbish. I get about £40 a year in JL vouchers.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 16/01/2018 18:43

Thanks blue

Its 500 points for a fiver i just read

Wasnt sure if that was good compared to tesco

DurhamDurham · 16/01/2018 18:43

I’d never shop anywhere just because of a loyalty card but I use them if I’m in a store, I have lots Grin I actually like the nectar card, we buy fuel at Sainsbury’s as it’s the cheapest place around here. We save the points for Christmas and when we redeemed them last December we had £89, not bad for no effort whatsoever. We bought all our Christmas drinks and treats with them.

Coastalcommand · 16/01/2018 18:44

Pissed or pissed off?

NewYearNiki · 16/01/2018 18:49

How do you even change your points to vouchers?

lostincumbria · 16/01/2018 18:51

Wait till people find out 50 businesses will no longer accept clubcard vouchers from the end of the month.
