It was my understanding that emails may be sent from dating websites and end up in the Junk Mail section but only if the website has been accessed/viewed at some point?

Absolutely yabu, they are in mine every week with viagra and penis extension ones also and they know the county i live in and my age group. They are very targetted.

It doesn't mean that you have ever been to their website. They just target and send out what seems like millions of emails.

Never been on a dating site ever yet still get junk mail.

I get all sorts of targeted spam. I travel a lot for work and a couple of days after I have been somewhere, I'll get messages for Uber eats in Houston, or a news feed for Manchester, hot girls in Belfast or whatever.
I think if you use anything like Google maps or FB it identifies your location and a few days later the spam catches up with where it thinks you live.

I have never had any issues with erectile disfunction. More crucially I am not even male.

Blimey - I never get online dating emails in my inbox or penis enlargement information, sounds like I'm missing out.

I was in DH's Trash box because I was looking for an old email that contained information about our Government funding codes as we need it for new childcare arrangements and just couldn't quite take in how many emails there were from this dating website.

He hasn't read any of the emails, they were all marked as Unread but I genuinely thought such websites could only email you if you've registered or visited the website but apparently I was wrong!

My DH keeps getting junk spam for Viagra in Canada [confuse] He definitely has no requirement for it and hasn't been googling it. There are lots of third party spam advertisers using other companies cookie information which is not necessarily related to browsing.

YABU I get them every bloody week. It really annoys me. For my area too if that makes a difference. I have no friends here so it isn't a prank or something!

Several 'matches' on online dating waiting for me, Russian, Thai and Chinese brides, busty blondes wanting to fuck, viagra, penis enlargement - I don't have a penis, not into women and have never ever been on a dating site, let alone registered on one.

For some reason my location services seems to think I'm in a town 30 miles away from where I actually am so my spam has all of these delightful offers based there.

I also get masses of targeted spam with the nearest city on it. Male & female dating sites, of various ethnicities & types (think bondage, MILF etc). I've never been on a dating site in my life. I also get the usual penis enlargement rubbish, etc.

I also get a lot of junk mail for Karen, & have done for several years. Karen apparently lives many miles away but also gets a variety of spam, for her area. Karen also receives penis enlargement spam. Karen is not my name, BTW...

I don't at all - that's why I was so shocked to see them. If I knew emails like that were sent to the extent they are now I've read people's responses I wouldn't have thought twice.

Maybe if he'd read them I'd have reason to be suspicious...

So as you weren't looking for trouble and you've been re-assured it's not your DH doing anything untoward then case closed I guess.

I signed up to some OLD sites a while before I met DH, I unregistered from them after we met, but there's one that for some reason wouldn't properly unregister, and they still email me constantly with matches in my area despite it being around 6-7 years ago when I used them. Goes into my main mailbox too but I just mark it as spam every time. DH certainly has no reason to be suspicious but I could understand if he saw it and wondered. I get random spam from sites I never registered with as well though so it could easily be that as others have said.
