To be fuming with Laura Ashley?

So I ordered a few bits and bobs on Boxing Day - just a few teatowels, a handbag and a purse, nothing big. Delivery was supposed to be within 10 days, and when I messaged them on facebook yesterday, my order had still not been dispatched or even put together.
I am seriously tempted to ring them up, cancel my order and demand a refund. This is ridiculous. URGH!

Rant over.

It's normally 10 working days isn't it? If so it hasn't been 10 days yet.

NerrSnerr · 07/01/2018 16:21

There’s only been 7 working days since Boxing Day. Not sure why you’re fuming.

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 07/01/2018 16:22

I’m sure there used to be a massive, years long thread about LA and this kind of thing. It out me right off ever shopping with them.

I hope you get it sorted either way.

NerrSnerr · 07/01/2018 16:22

Even if it was supposed to be 10 non working days is an extra couple of days worth being fuming about?

TenancyTroublesAgain · 07/01/2018 16:23

It is 10 working days OP...

BikeRunSki · 07/01/2018 16:23

Is it 10 working days? Because it’s only been 12 days, of which 4 weekend days and 1 BH, excluding BD itself.

Auspiciouspanda · 07/01/2018 16:25

7-10 working days....

To be fuming with Laura Ashley?
KarmaStar · 07/01/2018 16:25

Only seven working days OP since boxing day,or do they state ten days?
Perhaps it will arrive Tuesday with luck🌻

MagentaRocks · 07/01/2018 16:27

And I think fuming is a bit of an over reaction. Mildly annoyed would be proportionate. And terms and conditions say they aim for 7 to 10 working days but this is not guaranteed.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 07/01/2018 16:29

Why are fuming though? It hasn't been 10 working days yet!

CrackersForlt · 07/01/2018 16:37

Sale time is always busier) with possibly more people on holiday) so it's to be expected that things might take a little longer than usual.

But by all means cancel. I'm sure someone else will be glad of the bargains!

Hauntedlobster · 07/01/2018 16:43

I think it’s pretty bad customer service actually. I ordered a handbag elsewhere on Boxing Day and it had arrived by the Friday.

Sounds like LA need to get their ass in gear

Twoo · 07/01/2018 16:44

Crumbs I wish this was my only frustration with life.

Although Laura Ashley deliveries do tend to be a lengthy process though.

MonumentalAlabaster · 07/01/2018 16:46

I ordered 2 jumpers in the Jigsaw sale online on Boxing Day and was amazed to get them on Friday 29th ie 3 days later

Whitney168 · 07/01/2018 16:49

My only experience of shopping with Laura Ashley was equally frustrating. Even where they say 10 working days, I think we all assume they’re covering their arses and it will be here much sooner, as we’re used to more prompt delivery. With LA, they really mean it!

Knittedfairies · 07/01/2018 16:49

It seems a long time since Boxing Day..

user1474652148 · 07/01/2018 16:50

I find it ridiculous that Laura Ashley take this long in the first place! 10 days in this day and age is ab eternity. Why don't they speed it up or offer an express option.
I wanted to order things for Christmas but couldn't because the delivery was too long.
From a business point of view they would create far more sales if they upped their game.

user1474652148 · 07/01/2018 16:51

Ab - an

BreconBeBuggered · 07/01/2018 16:52

Whatever they say about the lead time for delivery, 10 days does sound a bit crap. I've placed a couple of post-Christmas orders and received them within the normal timeframe, so 2-3 days.

Laiste · 07/01/2018 16:54

10 days does seem ages nowadays. Next can get stuff to you next day.

It seems like sooooooo much longer than less than 10 working days since boxing day. I've got a fire up my arse for this year to get a move on though Grin

Bluntness100 · 07/01/2018 16:55

They do take ages and don't give th option of express delivery. Very strange in this day and age.

I ordered cushions in their sale and they took the full time to arrive and their website never updated, they just randomly were delivered. Their terms say they cannot guarantee the ten days and it can be longer in busy times like a sale.

To be honest it puts be off using them again.you usually have move options and visibility over your delivery but it's like a black hole with them. I also tweeted them and they didn't even bother to respond, but then I was one of many.

lonelymum86 · 07/01/2018 16:55

I wouldn’t generally get stressed about stuff like this- not in a patronising way at all so please don’t take it like that. I suppose if stuff doesn’t come in the next 3-4 days then maybe chase up or cancel but don’t be fuming.

Bluntness100 · 07/01/2018 16:59

As much as I think fuming is a bit daft, I think thr world has moved on to such a level that when you come across a big company who struggle to deliver goods in two weeks it's quite mind boggling and annoying.

I doubt they will be in business much longer as they can't master on line trading.

NobbyNobberson · 07/01/2018 16:59

A bit of perspective might be required here.......

DottyS · 07/01/2018 17:00

I really dislike Laura Ashley as they once followed me around their shop as they thought I was a shop lifter and when I say followed I mean followed. Needless to say I was not shoplifting but they made me feel like one so have never been back and have never bought any item of theirs since. For context I used to buy at least two items a month (if not more) and haven't bought anything for over 25 years,
