A three seater sofa with a windowsill to its left. Person A sits on the left side of the sofa and uses it to put their drinks on it. Person B sits on the right side of the sofa and puts their drink on the floor, down the side of the sofa.

Person A has knocked B's drink over a fair few times now and person B gets angrier each time. Saying A should remember that their is a drink on the floor. Person A thinks B should put their drink on the coffee table or fireplace 3 steps away, a drinknon the floor is bound to be knocked over. Person B says this is unfair. Person A says B is being lazy.

Who is right?

They should buy a coffee or side table Confused

Trashboat · 31/12/2017 12:13

Person A.

Of course you don't put drinks on the floor. That is just asking for it to be knocked over.

chickenowner · 31/12/2017 12:13

Put your drinks on a table.

AfterSchoolWorry · 31/12/2017 12:13

Person A is right. I hate drinks on the floor.

JeReviens · 31/12/2017 12:14

If A is sitting on the left are they purposefully going over to the right repeatedly to do something and thereby knocking over the drink?
I think they all sound a bit wrong in the head tbh. Of course a drink should be safe on the floor IF the other person is just sitting still and/or minding their business. Of course a drink is not safe on the floor if the other person is incapable of staying put and/or looking out for the drink

trojanpony · 31/12/2017 12:14

But to answer person B is the twat in this scenario as they should let A have windowsill
Reasoning being, A presumably is able to not kick over cups of tea while B is seemingly incapable

DragonsAndCakes · 31/12/2017 12:15

I’d think person A could remember to look out for a drink.
Could they swap seats?

Tessliketrees · 31/12/2017 12:16

Person B is right.

Person A should switch seats and see how comfortable it is getting up every time they want a drink.

DelphiniumBlue · 31/12/2017 12:17

How is person A knocking over B's drink from the other side of the sofa? Sounds almost deliberate if it keeps happening. And is A really expecting B to get up every time they want a sip of their drink? Why can't the coffee table be moved so that it is reachable from the sofa?

FaithEverPresent · 31/12/2017 12:17

Yeah Person B needs a table. Clearly it’s not working leaving the cup on the floor.

InAPickleToday · 31/12/2017 12:18

You need to go past person B's side of the sofa to get to the kitchen, stairs and front door. A coffee table would block the way and would need to be moved eachtime a person wants to get passed.

I think person A needs to watch where he/she is walking. And if you don't want people sitting drinks on the floor, move the coffee table closer to the sofa.

Robyrollover · 31/12/2017 12:19

If I put a drink on the floor, I expect it to be knocked over. However, we have a house full of young children and various animals Grin

Both are BU. You need to buy a little table to go next to the sofa to prevent this dilemma. It's not nice to get up every few minutes to take a sip of a drink. And accidents are bound to happen when drinks are on the floor, even if they are being mindful of it.

HippoPotOMoose · 31/12/2017 12:20

New rule, no drinks except in the kitchen Wink

Straycatblue · 31/12/2017 12:21

Person A should put their money where their mouth is and swap seats with Person B.

ApproachingATunnel · 31/12/2017 12:21

Person B shouldlook where they’re going;)

I think person b is right. No one wants to get up constantly to get a drink.
Why does a keep getting up? Swap places?

steff13 · 31/12/2017 12:24

Person B could ask Person A to put his/her drink on the windowsill, too. Then Person A could pass it to Person B whenever Person B wanted a sip.

Ginkypig · 31/12/2017 12:24

Person b needs a tiny table next to the edge of the seat.

Person a should reasonably remember that the drink is regularly there.
