A three seater sofa with a windowsill to its left. Person A sits on the left side of the sofa and uses it to put their drinks on it. Person B sits on the right side of the sofa and puts their drink on the floor, down the side of the sofa.

Person A has knocked B's drink over a fair few times now and person B gets angrier each time. Saying A should remember that their is a drink on the floor. Person A thinks B should put their drink on the coffee table or fireplace 3 steps away, a drinknon the floor is bound to be knocked over. Person B says this is unfair. Person A says B is being lazy.

Guys, search for 'slide-under table' or 'end table' to find a table like those mentioned. I fancy one myself!

BluebellTheDonkey · 31/12/2017 14:46

Who knew there were so many solutions for placing drinks on a sofa?!Grin

ravenmum · 31/12/2017 14:52

Trouble with buying those tables, tempting as they are, is that possessing one instantly marks you out as a couch potato :)

Lweji · 31/12/2017 14:56

Is B a very slow drinker
Exactly, B needs to drink faster too.

I wonder if there's a drink support that can be hung from the ceiling.

Also, for hands free no knock over drinks see photos.

Or... forbid drinks outside the kitchen. Sorted.

Gazelda · 31/12/2017 15:02

I'm with B on this one.

UnRavellingFast · 31/12/2017 15:12

knock it back in one then swap places.

Whinesalot · 31/12/2017 15:18

Does A always hog the window seat? Was this a one off or regular occurrence?

HunterHearstHelmsley · 31/12/2017 15:30

A can't be very bright.

We have drinks on the floor here. If they get knocked over the knocked over is at fault and must clean the mess.

CheekyFuckersAreEntertaining · 31/12/2017 15:39

This is why we only sit on the side of the sofas that have somewhere to put our cuppas. You need to invest in a small end table for the side of the sofa because cups shouldn't really be on the floor and both A and B are at fault. For not buying somewhere to safely put your brew!

youarenotkiddingme · 31/12/2017 15:51

Well person A knows the drink is there and I very much doubt they naturally walk with feet so close to edge of sofa.

So person B is right.

DrFoxtrot · 31/12/2017 17:07

A is in the wrong for knowing there’s a drink on the floor (as B has no real alternative) and keeping knocking it over.

A should swap with B and let them have the windowsill if they’re that forgetful.

CotswoldStrife · 31/12/2017 17:09

Or those tables that fold out to the height you need to eat your dinner off - I was really surprised to see them (more than one) in a house, but realised that the owners didn't have a dining table.

CotswoldStrife · 31/12/2017 17:10

Sorry, that was in reply to ravenmum about the couch potato aspect - yes, instant marker and noticeable!

Quimby · 31/12/2017 17:22

A= 100% in the wrong

1moremum · 31/12/2017 17:42

If person A keeps getting up, they should be the one sitting nearer the door, because in addition to being unable to remember to be careful about B's drink they keep walking between B and the TV. And thats annoying. B should be allowed to hunker down with their drink on the windowsill and be out of the way. After that, i bet A learns to not knock over their own drink quite quickly.
