How many loads of laundry do you do a week?

What's normal? I feel like I never stop! Once I've done the weeks laundry, and finally sorted it all out, I then have to start it all over again!

1 a day (6-7 per week). On in the early evening, hang it up before bed and it's dry by the following afternoon, when I put it away and start all over again. I usually alternate whites/darks/delicates/linen+towels/doggie stuff. It's just about enough to stay on top of it, and we don't have a drier.

villainousbroodmare · 24/12/2017 10:49

One most days.

MrsExpo · 24/12/2017 10:49

We’re 2 adults, no kids and I do 3-4 loads per week, one of which is sheets/bedding etc.

Supermagicsmile · 24/12/2017 10:49

I do between 10 - 14 loads a week. Try and do as much of it as we can on a Saturday as electricity is free. The tumble drier is on non stop!

Afishcalledchips · 24/12/2017 10:50

About 30 billion, give or take.

Topseyt · 24/12/2017 10:50

Usually a load a day. Occasionally more.

confusedlittleone · 24/12/2017 10:50

10- 2 adults a toddler and a baby with reflux

Corcory · 24/12/2017 10:53

2 Adults and 2 teens here so usually about 7 or 8 loads a week depending on sports activities that week.

ImogenHeat · 24/12/2017 10:54

About 10-12 a week. 2 adults and a baby.

2 loads a week are reusable nappies though. Otherwise it's probably 2-3 lights, 2-3 darks, 1 light delicates, 1 dark delicates, the rest will be bedding or things that have been involved in a baby vomit or diarrhoea attack.

I put one on every morning (on a timer on the days I work) then another in the afternoon some days when I know I'm not getting through it fast enough for one load a day.

JingsMahBucket · 24/12/2017 10:55

About two per week. Our washer has been broken for a long time so we have to go the laundromat whenever we fit it in. We just do two or three machines at a time when we're there. Our landlord is finally replacing the unit in January/February so we should be back up to 3 or 4 loads per week. I can't wait to catch up on certain things.

That said, it's only two of us in our household. We also reuse towels every day unlike other folks on MN it seems. I'm shocked at how much people launder each on here sometimes.

Tomselleckhaskindeyes · 24/12/2017 10:55

Afishcalldchips I take your 30billion and raise it to 40 billion. Grin

2 a day...it's never ending

clarrylove · 24/12/2017 10:57

Maybe 3. We are 2 adults and 2 children.

Itchytights · 24/12/2017 10:58

3 loads a day at least.

PoisonousSmurf · 24/12/2017 10:58

Ridiculous amount of washing! We are a family of 4 and the washing only goes on twice a week, three times at the most.
We don't have that many white clothes, so everything else is put in together with a 'colour catcher' sheet.
Why make so much work for yourselves and wasting water/energy?

GlitterGlassEye · 24/12/2017 10:59

A weeks washing Grin. It’s 1 or 2 loads per day to keep on top of it in this household. And that’s with dds school uniform only being replaced every 2nd day.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 24/12/2017 10:59

2 adults here, plus teenage ds home from uni.
Dh and I usually do 2 loads each of clothes, plus one load of sheets and one load of towels. However, we both workout or run every evening after work so probably get through a lot more clothes than most people.

Ds came home from uni last week and did 4 loads of washing on his first day home. I think he'd been saving it up!

IamtheDevilsAvocado · 24/12/2017 10:59

2 adults...

2-4

RosesInTheHospital · 24/12/2017 11:00

It’s just me and baby DS so probably anload every other day. Though he’s been doing his utmost to get shit on every piece of clothing this week so the washer has been on much more.

kaytee87 · 24/12/2017 11:01

6/7 per week, 2 adults and a 17mo.
Washing machine has quite a big drum and we have a tumble drier.

PoisonousSmurf · 24/12/2017 11:02

Have you people no heard of hand washing or even spot cleaning?

Cantspell2 · 24/12/2017 11:05

A load a day plus extra for towels and bedding. 4 adults 3 double beds changed weekly 1 single changed every other week. Showers for all every day but towels hung up to dry and reused at least twice.

dudsville · 24/12/2017 11:05

5 or 6, 2 adults, small drum. 2 bedding washes, 1 towels, then our own clothes.

WeAllHaveWings · 24/12/2017 11:06

2 adults, 1 ds(13).

Usually 3 general clothes, one white (5 school shirts), one towels/tea towels, 1 bedding (sometimes bedding not every week)..
