Lingerie from dh for Christmas

Dh is after buying me something from Ann Summers for Christmas. I spotted the box. I’m 38 and we have 3 kids. I’m not into that scratchy uncomfortable type of underwear. Really disappointed that at this stage he thinks this is a good present choice for me after knowing one another for nearly 20 years.

It’s just the one present. Present to himself is what I thought as well. I told him I spotted it and told him that I don’t want to even see what’s in it. Now I’m the b**ch.
I know there are way more serious issues but just feel a bit crap about it.

My EX bought me loads of 'lingerie' which went straight back to the shop after Christmas/birthday/anniversary. He didn't mind one bit as he 'enjoyed shopping for it' BOAK!

I am to go against the grain and say that I would like that. I like to feel sexy. I like have sex. All sorts of sex from Sunday morning minimum effort sex, to love making sex, to sexy underwear, rampant sex... My DH is not the type to buy it though - which is a shame for me...

What is it specifically that pisses you off? Is it that you would feel objectified or used? Which is not good at all, and I understand that. Or is it that you are just not comfortable in that stuff and he knows but is pushing it anyway? Also not good. Or could he be trying to inject a little fun into things for you both? If that is the case, whilst his method may be wrong, his intentions are not necessarily terrible.

If he was going to buy sexy pants he could have at least bought something half decent-to be fair though he's probably never worn cheap lingere and doesn't realise that it's really unpleasant. Have you explained to him that it's actually unwearable? He probably thinks that he's been really thoughtful and bought you something really nice that you just wouldn't normally buy because you couldn't justify the expense when you could just buy a Waitrose multipack.

Our sex life is fine. I’m not into anything from that shop at all. I don’t see how it’s a present for me? There’s a million and one things I need/ would love to be given. It’s poured cold water on any Christmas sex that’s for sure!

Hope he's kept the receipt. My dh got me a Victoria's Secret gift card a couple of years ago and I got a lovely practical nightdress with it. I'm sure that's what he had in mind Grin.

Why will it be scratchy and uncomfortable, just because it's from there? My sister buys mist of her underwear from Ann Summers and she has lovely (non scratchy) stuff.
