Absolutely hating this trend. It just doesn’t give me that warm, fuzzy festive feeling at all. My friend has a similar tree and I know this makes me sad & pathetic but for some reason it’s really grating on me 😆 AIBU?

YANBU!

bridgetreilly · 14/12/2017 21:07

I like it.

IrkThePurist · 14/12/2017 21:07

It looks like it was stolen from a park.

Neoflex · 14/12/2017 21:09

That tree looks sadder than my day

mittensofsteel · 14/12/2017 21:11

It would be great as a SECOND tree in the house. If you had an enormous house and possibly a butler.

MozTheMonster · 14/12/2017 21:13

I love that tree! If I was single, and lived in an uncluttered house, free of toys. I would have that tree and be very happy.

IcanMooCanYou · 14/12/2017 21:13

I like it as a Christmas decoration but seeing the presents under there makes me sad!!!

MaisyPops · 14/12/2017 21:14

It's pretty enough,but it isn't a Christmas tree.

One of my friends has one of these bare artificial tree branch type things with odds and ends on it (like baubles but more hipster). It looks nice, but it's not a real Christmas tree.

NewPapaGuinea · 14/12/2017 21:14

Nice twig

Grilledaubergines · 14/12/2017 21:15

Lovely as a second tree or used as a decoration but as the only "tree", no it doesn't work for me.

Its pretty, but I'd have ti as a 'sec on tree' in a hallway or such like. You need a proper tree with tinsel and other tacky shit lights and a star/angel to feel festive.

StiltonForDays · 14/12/2017 21:19

second tree!

kitkatsky · 14/12/2017 21:20

I hate artificial trees! But when I lived alone and couldn’t afford a real one I decided a tree that didn’t loom real was best choice so on that baisis you are a bit unreasonable

MrGrumpy01 · 14/12/2017 21:21

I think they are really lovely, but like others as a decoration/2nd tree not as the main tree.

SwedishEdith · 14/12/2017 21:22

Agree.

AppleKatie · 14/12/2017 21:23

I concur it’s great as a second tree. And looks lovely.

Main tree isn’t supposed to look lovely it’s supposed to reek of tradition and childhood not class and sophistication 😃

badg3r · 14/12/2017 21:23

It looks like they forgot to take down last year's tree. I bet people with tree like that also have things like baked salmon for Christmas lunch.
Xmas Envy

speakout · 14/12/2017 21:23

Christmas trees by their nature are evergreens- that's the whole point. Even if they are artificial they should still be a fir or pine. It's symbolic.

SparklingSnowfall · 14/12/2017 21:24

I love it! But definitely in addition to a 'proper' tree

Porkpies55 · 14/12/2017 21:24

My friends has a few baubles and about 3 presents underneath. It’s just depressing in appearance. It wouldn’t bother me as a decoration, but as the main tree it’s just awful. Really flattens my Xmas spirit 😂

Have it as a second tree by all means, but please don't insult it by putting gifts underneath. It looks like they've forgotten to tidy up!

It reminds me of the Stick Man. I'm afraid I just find it funny! I've seen worse though.

SwedishEdith · 14/12/2017 21:27

We don't have presents under the tree until Christmas Eve though. Kids only get them from us and one set of GPs.
