It appears they are not doing their white chocolate and strawberry Christmas trees this year. Only the stupid salted caramel and milk chocolate ones.

They were the entire point of December.

They have RUINED my Christmas Xmas Angry

No, I don’t want to suck on a Prosecco lollipop while bathing in Gin & Tonic bath foam…I just want a festive fucking chipolata and a white chocolate tree Xmas Angry

But cheesy balls? Christmas is still magical when you can chomp on cheesy balls.

granbyproxy · 05/12/2017 17:44

And STILL no Haagen Daz Baileys icecream to be seen. My freezer is usually rammed with the stuff by now :-(

Tkmaxx has been providing a much needed lifeline to the festively deprived this year. Come over to the coffee creams thread - if you can ignore the minor unpleasantness (no I will not google stockists, don't you get it?) the spirit of cameraderie is quite uplifting.

Mingles were shit though.

I know it’s not the same and someone may already have posted this but I can highly recommend the double chocolate Magnums with the raspberry layer

YABU

It's bloody M&S who have ruined Christmas. They posted photos of a divine-looking chocolate reindeer dessert, but I then found out it's not vegetarian Angry

York Fruits?? I am still cross about the time I got given a box of these, as a student nurse. On this particular ward, any chocolates given to us by the patients weren’t opened for immediate devouring, instead they were given to one of the nursing staff, according to the Chocolates List - all the staff were on it, and got the chocolates, in turn - and when your name got to the top of the list, you got the next box of chocolates given my a patient.

Imagine my excitement when I finally made it to No 1 on the Chocolates List. Other people had got big boxes of Thornton’s or Dairy Milk.

And imagine my disappointment when I got a box of York Fruits. Dammit, they aren’t even chocolate!

I still bear a grudge.

SemolinaSilkpaws · 05/12/2017 18:01

I can still remember the halcyon day Haagan Daz were giving out full sized tubs of ice cream at London stations. I went on a mercy dash for the office along with a colleague and we brought back bags of the stuff. Even provided cool bags for transporting the ice cream home. Bollocks to that, we ate the lot immediately.

Abbylee · 05/12/2017 18:03

Salted caramel makes me feel inadequate; it seems that everyone except me likes it. I try it every year or so and find that i like it less each time.

White chocolate and strawberries are only two ingredients....can you make them?

captainjacksparrow · 05/12/2017 18:06

I see your complaints... And raise you Sara lee chocolate gateaux....

My life is just shit now Sad

ColonelJackONeil · 05/12/2017 18:08

Years ago now there were spicy tomato twiglets one Xmas and I still look out for them every year but no.
Anyway this thread proves we are right to gorge ourselves on Christmas treats just in case they never return. I'm quite keen on the Aldi milk chocolate lebkuchen and I now see it is important that I stockpile and eat at least 127 packets of them.

StormTreader · 05/12/2017 18:09

Lidl is doing very nice Gingerbread Icecream at the moment, which I have 2 tubs of in the freezer, ready. They are also doing a Mince Pie version as well, but its Gingerbread all the way for my money.

@lurkeyishere I know its a while back now, but have you tried doing the Gingerbread cupcakes with just vanilla frosting? I think Ginger and Lemon would be a bit of an off-putting combo for me as well. That said, if you have loads you want to get rid of........:p

longtompot · 05/12/2017 18:09

Well Lidl can join them as they don't seem to be making their amazing winter cappuccino and their cinnamon one crys

I've been harbouring a ten year-old grudge against Iceland for discontinuing a roasted vegetable lattice pie with a tomato-based sauce. Tut tut!

fluffiny31 · 05/12/2017 18:17

I'm disappointed in Iceland too. They got me hooked on the salted caramel and gingerbread coffee yoghurts then stopped selling them. Sad how dare they

dotdotdotmustdash · 05/12/2017 18:22

And while I am here I may as well point out that I make my own strawberry granita from scratch every evening. Apart from a Sunday. When I make a semifreddo.

I also make a semifreddo. It's the moment between eating the first bite of my Freddo and the second .

HoneyDragon Well we know now, but what about the last 6 years of fruitless searching for them, always feeling something was missing from our Christmases. Why didn't someone tell us? Xmas Angry

After 8s are just so...so.... slicey. Chocolate peppermint creams are too icing sugary, nothing matches the creamy minty-ness of Mingles.
