It appears they are not doing their white chocolate and strawberry Christmas trees this year. Only the stupid salted caramel and milk chocolate ones.

They were the entire point of December.

They have RUINED my Christmas Xmas Angry

TwitterQueen NO FUCKING CUSTARD???!!!

BrizzleDrizzle · 04/12/2017 21:01

DOn't flounce off to Waitrose, they have ruined my evening because they subsconsciously forced me to put back the hot chicken tikka and buy some horrible aloo and chana masala instead.

RueDeWakening · 04/12/2017 21:05

While you're in Iceland fruitlessly searching for your ice lollies, do try their party sausage rolls - the pork and chorizo ones are amazing much to the astonishment of everyone I know who's tried them Grin

iseenodust · 04/12/2017 21:08

M&S have marzipan fruits but if you can forgive the imagery recommend the Lidl marzipan logs covered in dark chocolate.

Originalfoogirl · 04/12/2017 21:13

mikeuniformmike

I don’t get the salted caramel thing either. It’s horrific.

SemolinaSilkpaws · 04/12/2017 21:15

All this talk of chocolately things has encouraged me to eat a Gu cheesecake. Now feel sick - and that is Iceland’s fault too.

HoneyDragon · 04/12/2017 21:15

I do like a trifle thread. They get BRUTAL.

I don’t soak my fruit. And this year I’m doing Jelly, setting it and then adding sponge. My mother disgusts me and doesn’t let jelly near her trifle at all.

Cunting Iceland 😡 plus you’re stuck with the wee glass pot and trying to find a purpose for it.

I've still not forgiven whoever it is that makes After Eight Mints for discontinuing the white chocolate ones. They were wonderful and creamy and perfect. 😫

SemolinaSilkpaws · 04/12/2017 21:21

Honeydragon fill them with Christmassy pot pourri and dot around the house - not.

gingergenius · 04/12/2017 21:23

@TwitterQueen1 what is this newfangled brioche nonsense you speak of????

gingergenius · 04/12/2017 21:23

@HoneyDragon do you allow the jelly to infuse the sponge???

CallMeDollFace · 04/12/2017 21:31

Whaaat? Shooketh.

And in our woooooorld of plenty,
Iceland have discontinued their strawberry and white chocolate Christmas lollies,
Throw your hands around their necks,
At Christmas tiiiime.

It doesn’t quite scan I’ll admit, but it might sell.

MarieVanGoethem · 04/12/2017 21:44

Sue them for causing emotional distress. Only reasonable thing to do. Plus a sadface for the press, obviously.

Salted caramel has even seeped into death-free foods. I like caramel. If I had a sudden inexplicable urge for a salinated version, I could, you know, have at it with the salt myself.

As for trifle, I once attended a Girlguiding training where the Trainer used making a trifle as a [painfully laboured] metaphor for... something to do with Guiding. (Yes, that's how well it worked...). Don't think she'd counted on QUITE how strongly some people feel about trifle recipes - at least 3 Leaders flatly refused to work with each other for the rest of the session due to irreconcilable trifle-related differences & kept glowering at each other. Every now & then you'd catch someone muttering darkly "mumble mumble custard HAS SHE NO SHAME" or "mumble mumble sponge there will be RUINED! Her mother will be turning in her grave, she made a proper trifle..." or something similarly, um, interesting...

HoneyDragon · 04/12/2017 21:46

Not this year, the jelly must not infuse the sponge because I intend to make

Rainbow Trifle. Oh yes.

"And there won't be lollies in Honeys this Christmas"

Reckon we are on to a winner with the song

HoneyDragon · 04/12/2017 21:48

I want a six hour tv schedule with Bob screaming “just give us your fucking lollies/Mingles/chipolatas!”

TrinitySquirrel · 04/12/2017 21:51

@Popchyk is a semifreddo just a normal freddo on a diet or is it his top or bottom half only for 10p?

Christinayangstwistedsista · 04/12/2017 21:51

We could do a video of you looking pathetic

Bob staring into camera," now we have a video clip from Honey, please donate generously"

HoneyDragon · 04/12/2017 21:51

A semifreddo is a chocolate frog that has no little blue pills.

Totally agree with a previous poster that McDonalds are utter bastards for not bringing the festive pie back. I have to make my own with a mince pie and a pot of microwave Ambrosia which is not the same (sobs).
M&S are also equally gittish for not having mulled cider or chocolate orange brioches again this Christmas. I suppose I could do an M&S hack by having a normal brioche roll with a couple of dark chocolate orange slices wedged in? Perfectly healthy breakfast!

NewLove · 04/12/2017 21:56

I'm disappointed with MacDs - I don't 'do' macD's apart from their rather wonderful festive pies (like the apple ones but with mincemeat and custard). Well over the past few years they have substituted them with poor replacements how is banana and choc festive pray tell but this year they are doing NOTHING. Very disappointed... If anyone has the recipe for the pastry so I can make my own I will be eternally grateful!

Dontsayyouloveme · 04/12/2017 21:57
