Not to make dinner for DH

We finished lunch at 4pm (a roast) I thought DH wouldn't need dinner but he is furious I haven't made anything. He was expecting another cooked meal. Kids had a cheese baguette before bed.

What’s stopping him making his own?

And why isn't he capable of making something himself?
