To not understand why Jason Manford is still popular?

There are multiple stories of him cheating, sexting when in a relationship with pregnant people, and just generally treating women like shit.

He is on Loose Women, showcasing his new singing career, milking his 'cheeky chappy' persona, talking about his Nana and his kids, and is being fawned over by all the presenters.

He is obviously a huge bellend (he probably claims he is a 'sexual addict's or something) and i just don't get why people still seem to love him?

He's pretty funny though. That's probably why

Uokbing · 18/10/2017 13:28

That should say *sex addict.

Meh. He is alright at best.

I find him dull.

ShatnersBassoon · 18/10/2017 13:31

He's likeable. It must be galling for the people he's hurt.

I didn't know he is a bit of a rum'un.

BitOutOfPractice · 18/10/2017 13:32

For some reason I seem to follow him on FB and he irritates the bejeezus out of me

He's always on about how marvellous he is doing the parenting stuff Hmm

TheLegendOfBeans · 18/10/2017 13:33

I like him
He's a good social commentator
I think he's a good defender of the working class without being a champagne socialist
And I find him quite funny.

Then I remember...

massive cheat who not only got up to all sorts behind Mrs Manfords back but also shagged about behind his subsequent gf's back too.

(Allegedly)

KrytensNanobots · 18/10/2017 13:33

I follow him on Facebook. He comes across as likeable. He makes me laugh.

TheLegendOfBeans · 18/10/2017 13:33

It puts me right off

squishee · 18/10/2017 13:34

Who?

Raisedbyguineapigs · 18/10/2017 13:35

I don't find him funny at all. Especially when he goes on about all his kids. He has 5 I think under 8 by 3 different women, which says all it needs to about how involved he is in the grunt work of their upbringing if he's busy impregnating the next woman along. And his singing is average at best.

MrsJayy · 18/10/2017 13:35

I am just wondering who told him he could fecking sing Hmm I guess people are not squeaky clean but still do their jobs his private life really isn't up to be scrutinized when he is telling jokes Imo however the SINGING dear gawd

Uokbing · 18/10/2017 13:38

I don't follow him on FB but some of my friends do so his posts often come up through 'likes'. Yes, he is always going on about his kids and stuff and i am a bit Hmm

I don't find him funny at all. Especially when he goes on about all his kids.

Lots of people post on Facebook about their days out/ funny sayings of kids. I kind of like it. (Cos I like nosing into others days Smile )

ILoveMillhousesDad · 18/10/2017 13:39

He is not funny at all. But it's all subjective. I have had to turn off his radio show because the 'stories' he tries to pass off and something that had happened to him, were blatant bollocks.

Even the name of his new tour 'muddle class', makes him sound like a twat.

Raisedbyguineapigs · 18/10/2017 13:40

Every time I've heard him talk he shoehorns his kids into the conversation though, so he uses his private life as part of his shtick. Its like the children are part of his ego.

MrsC2000 · 18/10/2017 13:41

I like him, I think he's funny. I'm not interested in whether or not he's a cheater, nobody knows the one and outs of anybodies elses relationship so couldn't comment. Statistically 1 in 3 people cheat so he's not the first and certainly won't be the last.

Uokbing · 18/10/2017 13:41

Yeah a woman who had 5 kids under 8 by 3 different blokes would get slated and it would be part of her definition (thinking Ulrika who gets a lot of shit about it).

OP posts:
araiwa · 18/10/2017 13:42

The bits and pieces ive seen of him, 8out of 10,qi etc, hes been ok. Never watched a whole show of his

araiwa · 18/10/2017 13:43

You mean like he has just been slated? Confused

Uokbing · 18/10/2017 13:43

Lots of people post on Facebook about their days out/ funny sayings of kids

Yes but I think the point is he bangs out this 'great dad' thing, which is very much part of his persona, whereas actually we know he doesn't give that much of a fuck about them because as someone above said, he always seems to be onto getting the next woman pregnant.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 18/10/2017 13:44

I don't find him funny at all.

BertrandRussell · 18/10/2017 13:44

"I think he's a good defender of the working class without being a champagne socialist "

I think the expression "champagne socialist" is pretty meaningless, but if you don't, how is Manford not one?

Uokbing · 18/10/2017 13:44

You mean like he has just been slated?

Yes but I meant slated on a slightly wider scale!

He should be put in a room with Nick Knowles and be made to listen to their own albums forever. Alexander Armstrong can visit.
