A burning itchy vagina from hell?! Every single time. Period comes to an end, itchy burning sensation start and is so bad I want to scratch my vagina off. I use tampons for a few days then pads. Considering trying a cup again. Anyone else?

Nope.

64PooLane · 11/10/2017 20:31

Are you using scented pads? I saw a thread on here recently about those and it had lots of posters saying they trigger thrush/reaction.

margaritasbythesea · 11/10/2017 20:32

Me neither

Crispmonster1 · 11/10/2017 20:32

No

Maddiemademe · 11/10/2017 20:33

Yes I do, drives me mad as well. Wondered if it was a case of thrush or just general rubbing of wearing a pad possibly.

SpecialAgentDaleCooper · 11/10/2017 20:34

My first thought was that you might be getting a reaction to the pads (more likely if they're scented)

callmehannahbaker · 11/10/2017 20:34

I did from tampons and pads-not at all with a mooncup.

EB123 · 11/10/2017 20:34

Yes. For me it is disposable pads that set it off as when I use cloth ones it doesn't happen.

ReverseGiraffe · 11/10/2017 20:35

My friend had this and turned out she had a really bad, long running case of thrush. She had been treating it with the cream, no internal meds.

I'd get checked out if I were you.

Oscha · 11/10/2017 20:35

Disposable pads do this to me. Reusables, thank god, don’t!

ElspethTascioni · 11/10/2017 20:35

Try a washable pad? I find they are more comfortable generally and just less sweaty feeling than the binable types

Heckneck · 11/10/2017 20:35

No no scented pads. Glad I'm not the only one. When I went to docs I had swabs taken but nothing ever came back positive. Just makes me feel awfully uncomfortable for a day or two.

Yes

Fucking scented pads. They give me the rage. Wrong on so many levels and probably invented by a —gay— man

Meandyouandyouandme · 11/10/2017 20:36

Yes I do, I just think it’s irritation and a bit of thrush. I use non scented tampons and towels, I have very sensitive skin everywhere else as well.

Heckneck · 11/10/2017 20:38

Thanks. I'll definitely invest in some reusable pads. Are they just as absorbent as the disposables? Gonna try moon up again but last time I couldn't get it to not leak.

gamerchick · 11/10/2017 20:39

It’s probably the pads, I get a bit scratty during and the day afterwards.

thecakefairy · 11/10/2017 20:41

When my daughter first started her period, she had this 3 or 4 times.
It was lurking Thrush that flared up as her period finished.
She had to have industrial strength treatment which cleared it up.
What a palaver though as she was only young and just entering the world of womanhood!
I think it lurks around in the cervix.

Gemini69 · 11/10/2017 20:41

when I used to use Tampons.. YES

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 11/10/2017 20:42

Maybe consider using the cotton tampons and pads from Boots.

livingthegoodlife · 11/10/2017 20:43

is it just friction from the pads? sweat?

sounds annoying. perhaps a change of product would be a good idea?

thecakefairy · 11/10/2017 20:43

Also, as well as scented pads, the amount of plastic and water absorbing gels in pads are terrible and very irritating to a lot of people.

Madbum · 11/10/2017 20:45

Non scented pads (and probably scented) do this to me, I think it’s chafing in my case rather than thrush.
A day or so of not wearing pads and a bit of sudocrem does the trick for me.

Brittbugs80 · 11/10/2017 20:46

I used to and switched to reusable pads. Best thing I ever did. I get mine from Treat Trove.

Though you mention it on here and you are usually flamed for being a health hazard and that the irritants and chemicals in disposable pads are a myth.

londonrach · 11/10/2017 20:47

No. get ldll pads (55p for 10 no smell like the old days...those small folding ones with wings).

Ribrabrob · 11/10/2017 20:48

Yes I get it, it's horrible! I don't use pads, just tampons, so I'm not really sure what it is really.
