To suspect that dd’s drink got spiked?

She went out to a well known London club which turns out to have a rep as being quite druggie.

She is quite a heavy drinker with a high tolerance. She drank 2 pints and 5 jaegarbombs. No more than she says that she can quite easily manage and drinks on a night out clubbing.

Predrinking she was fine and she arrived at the club around 12pm. She drank some jaegarbombs in the club with a friend who was fine.

By 1am she was being violently sick and immediately had to leave the club and be supported by others and got a taxi home. She was vomiting all the way home and it also seems that she crapped her pants.

She was sick all night and woke up in a bed full of her own vomit. Her friends had left her by that point to sleep themselves having been watching her all night.

She has absolutely no recollection of what happened last night after arriving to the nightclub.

She said she still felt drunk at midday and she is still occasionally vomiting and feeling ill.

What do you think? Was she spiked or did she drink too much?

To be honest that sounds like a perfectly normal reaction to drinking that quantity of alcohol to me. But you know your dd best.

ApplesTheHare · 28/09/2017 21:19

Poor you, very worry! All those symptoms sound like drink tbh. All sorts can affect your tolerance on any given day, so even heavier drinkers get caught out. Hopefully it helps her to re-think her drinking.

BarbarianMum · 28/09/2017 21:21

Forgot to ask, how old is she? If she's been drinking heavily for years then a decrease in tolerance can signal liver disease. Maybe a trip to the GP?

ApplesTheHare · 28/09/2017 21:21

*worrying

HighwayDragon1 · 28/09/2017 21:22

So she got shit faced and tried to say she'd been spiked? If she's telling you she had 2 points and ,5 bombs you can get your last penny it's way more than that. And our drinks too?

HighwayDragon1 · 28/09/2017 21:22

*predrinks

HarrietKettleWasHere · 28/09/2017 21:22

That would have been me if I didn't eat before I went out. Did she line her stomach?

NameChange30 · 28/09/2017 21:23

Did she drink all 5 Jaegerbombs between midnight and 1am? Or did she have some before she got there?

If she regularly drinks that much, that quickly, her drink could have been spiked, but it's slightly beside the point really. She needs to cut down the drinking for the sake of her liver.

GriefLeavesItsMark · 28/09/2017 21:23

Could be food poisoning. As an aside, she was lucky she got a taxi in the state she was in, most drivers round here wouldn't have taken her!

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 28/09/2017 21:23

She may well have been spiked... that does seem like a crazy reaction to not a huge amount of alcohol when normally you're very used to drinking.
As a pp how old is she?

bruffin · 28/09/2017 21:25

My dd was like that after 5 jaeger bombs. She never did it again. She doesnt go out drinking a lot but when she does never seems that drunk, but after the jaeger bombs she was sick all night

angelikacpickles · 28/09/2017 21:29

Far more likely to be alcohol. My sister worked in A&E and the vast majority of people who claimed to have had their drinks spiked had just drunk too much.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 28/09/2017 21:31

Does she normally drink jaeger? Just because when I used to drink like a fish (a worrying fish, looking back), I couldn't drink jaeger at all. I could do tequila, vodka, whatever whatever but one shut of jaeger and BLEUGH.

GetOutOfMYGarden · 28/09/2017 21:32

She drank 11 units (potentially more if those predrinks aren't included in the 2 pints and 5 jaegerbombs) and got drunk OP.

Hulder · 28/09/2017 21:33

She drank at least 9.5 units of alcohol in an evening.

She's describing a perfectly normal reaction to drinking that amount of alcohol.

Factor in that she may have drunk more than a) she admits to b) she remembers and she doesn't need her drink to have been spiked.

Even if her drink was spiked - the most common thing for drinks to be spiked with is more alcohol.

But basically - she drank too much.

Wheresmytaco · 28/09/2017 21:34

It's not a great amount to drink but if the op's dd does it regularly and is fine it does make you think something else was involved.

Wheresmytaco · 28/09/2017 21:35

I think it's strange she's still drunk the next day. I would have told her to get checked out and to call the club and ask them to check their cctv

Papafran · 28/09/2017 21:36

That sounds pretty extreme, but it is quite a large amount of drink in a short space of time. Could be that the club had bought knock-off booze though and she had a bad reaction to it. Hopefully the experience of crapping her pants will mean that she eases back on the drinking. I don't think I would drink again if that happened to me in the presence of others.

Angelicinnocent · 28/09/2017 21:36

Yep, my DS was in an awful state after Jaeger. Hadn't drunk much but the bombs had him out cold.

LeakyLittleBoat · 28/09/2017 21:38

She had 2 pints and 5 jaeger shots in an hour? Come on now, you don't think that's an excessive amount in that time frame? Yeah, I really don't think it was something she ate or something someone put in her drink.

Sayyouwill · 28/09/2017 21:38

Red bull does say that it is not supposed to be consumed with alcohol.
Perhaps it's just too much caffeine mixed with the alcohol. Perhaps she didn't have enough in her stomach to absorb some alcohol.
It doesn't sound like being spiked imo

VeryCunningStunt · 28/09/2017 21:40

it also seems that she crapped her pants

What an eloquent turn of phrase.

Sometimes it just hits you.

I was at inlaws with dh once and we'd drank the usual amount - a fair bit, but not an abnormal amount for us at the time. We'd usually be fine after such an amount.... But as soon as we got up to leave he couldn't stand, was more drunk than I've ever seen him - couldn't even talk. No way should he have been like that.

It just hits you differently sometimes.

TheCowWentMoo · 28/09/2017 21:45

Did she predrink and then drink the pints and jaegerbombs or did she drink 2 pints at pres? Thats quite an extreme reaction to that amount of alcohol tbh, you might throw up once but all night? Is she sure she just didn't have food poisoning combined with being quite drunk?
