Inspired by another thread discussing mother being 40+

Just wondered what age your dh was when trying to conceive your last child?

and is 43 too old?

A friend is trying and her hubby is 50...

KittysMyName · 09/09/2017 14:03

46! He turned 47 a week after our DD was born.

SweepTheHalls · 09/09/2017 14:03

40, and tbh he does have a bee in his bonnet about being too old. I'm 3 years younger.

Remy66 · 09/09/2017 14:04

He was 58

danTDM · 09/09/2017 14:04

55, took a month. I was 36.
my sister just had a baby (her first) at 46 if that helps.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 09/09/2017 14:05

My dh is 47 will turn 48 day before baby's due date, so 43 is not too old Smile

Snap8TheCat · 09/09/2017 14:06

The week of his 27th birthday. Shock

PotteringAlong · 09/09/2017 14:06

ZippyCameBack · 09/09/2017 14:08

Last planned baby he was 58. Last born baby he was 60. He was 50 when our first was born.

Gorgosparta · 09/09/2017 14:09

Dh was 36 when we were ttc ds. 37 when he was born.

Too old is not a factual statement. Dh feels to old to have anymore at 43. He did at 38.

I felt to old to have anymore after ds was born when i was 28. Because i had soent all my twenties having young children. I didnt want the same for all my thirties.

My kids are 13 and 6 and i am happy with that decision now.

Lots of people havent kids at 28. Lots have kids older. What feels to old for dh or me, isnt the same for everyone. Neither is wrong.

OublietteBravo · 09/09/2017 14:11

We were both 29 (and 30 when DS was born).

My dad was 43 when DBro was born.

liz70 · 09/09/2017 14:13

DH was 39 when DD3 was conceived and born.

notanotherNC · 09/09/2017 14:13

He was 47. Got pregnant first try every time -o

PolarBearGoingSomewhere · 09/09/2017 14:14

We will have finished TTC our family by the time I am 30 and DH is 35 (have 3 kids already and a small window when we would consider another).

There are risk factors depending on the man's age but it's such a personal thing: I would rather have DC with the right man at a slightly older age, than have them young before I was ready or was with the wrong person.

Threeandabit · 09/09/2017 14:15

30

olderandnowiser · 09/09/2017 14:16

If Bill Wyman can do it, then anyone can do it.

MrsPworkingmummy · 09/09/2017 14:17

44 when our daughter was born. Our new baby is due in Jan next year - a week before he turns 50! I couldn't think of a better husband or father for our children.

fusspot66 · 09/09/2017 14:20

I had mine at 40 and almost 44. Husband was 46 and 50. Didn't seem too old at the time but the thought of financing university at 60+ and we're separated now, is daunting. Wouldn't change a thing though!

catlover1987 · 09/09/2017 14:22

We are TTC at the moment and my DH is 40. I'm 10 years younger. Ironically he is fine and I'm the one having problems.

EdmundCleverClogs · 09/09/2017 14:26

28, and unless life goes in a different direction, probably his last. I categorically will not have more (biological children anyway). However we always knew that having (biological) children when a bit older wasn't an option without there being real health risks. I personally also do not want to be doing the child/teen thing in my late 40s-50s, but I can see why people would (more disposable income must really help, for one).

LalaLeona · 09/09/2017 18:26

48 for our last child and I fell pregnant first time . Disclaimer..I am younger than him!

JustDanceAddict · 09/09/2017 18:57
