What age was dh when ttc last child?

Inspired by another thread discussing mother being 40+

Just wondered what age your dh was when trying to conceive your last child?

and is 43 too old?

My ex conceived his last child age 32. My current husband was a similar age with his ex. We had enough children between us to occupy all our bedrooms and car space and didn't want to do the baby thing again

I am a similar age to both husbands

DH and I were both 40. Men do have more mutations in their sperm as they get older. The Royal Family Haemophelia was probably caused by Victoria's father being 51 when she was conceived. There's a lot of misogyny around the obsession with women's fertility as they get older and the lack of focus on the impact of paternal age.

The reality is that most of the information we have about female fertility is based on what we know from people with fertility issues. Most women with normal fertility are no longer actively trying to conceive in their 40s so how on earth do we know how long most remain fertile?
