Really fucked off with Euro exchange rate

We have been going on holiday self-catering to the same place in Europe for over 10 years.

This year everything feels prohibitively expensive - to the point where it is really inhibiting what we can choose to do.

We are here for 2 weeks and it's really hard as family of 4 (with 2 teenagers) to spend less than £100/euros a day on activities/eating out.

Not in a beach resort type place, so taking a picnic to the beach for the day isn't an option - nearly everything there is to do here costs money. 3 euros for a coffee, 3 for an ice-cream - it all quickly adds up. Even the 'cheap' food in the supermarket is expensive. Practically at parity with £.

Bloody Brexit!

"But most of mumsnet didn't care and preferred to accuse people of racism when this was all brought up in prior years "

Absolutely this. John Denham wrote to Blair in 2006, telling him that since 2004 (2 years only) the day rate of a building contractor in his constituency Southampton, had been cut by 50%. 50% in 2 years, quite simply due to nearly 20,000 eastern europeans that had arrived in Southampton since 2004.

He was utterly ignored. Its also utterly ignored that France, Germany and others, didnt open their job markets up to the newly joined states, choosing instead to apply strict rules to protect the 'native' workforce.

Blair has a huge about to answer for. It's ironic that his decision to NOT apply stricter rules for the native workforce, like every other EU country, has led to so much resentment and ultimately people voting for Brexit.
I'm a remainder by the way and hate that we are leaving the EU.
