re 'Cash waiting' and 'need gone'?

I just find these phrases pointless. I kind of assume people posting an ad on facebook in search of something will have money to pay for it. And I really don't care if someone 'needs' something to go, that's not going to affect my decision to buy it or not.

Yanbu
'need gone' so trampy

witchofzog · 22/08/2017 21:04

If I see the term needs gone, I think there may be a bargain to be had as they need it to be removed by a certain date

missmollyhadadolly · 22/08/2017 21:19

YANBU re 'need gone'. I don't get 'cash waiting'? Is that hust saying i have money?

BikeRunSki · 22/08/2017 21:23

"cash waiting" at least indicates that someone can afford to buy whatever it is they are after, and are not going to waste your time trying to sell something before they can pay you. bitter experience

DrunkenUnicorn · 22/08/2017 21:25

You'd think people looking to buy something would of course have the cash to pay for it...

I did until I had to sell a mid value (£250) item connected to my hobby recently. I put it on a few out out local Facebook groups. The number of chancers I got who wanted to pay on instalments or for me to hold it for free until they had the cash was astounding! Shock Im the end I stuck it on eBay and had to suck up the fees, but at least it went within a week and I was paid promptly.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 22/08/2017 21:26

'Need gone' is awful. I couldn't bring myself to buy anything from anyone who put it in advert. Trampy is probably a good word for how I imagine the person who owned it to be. I wouldn't want to buy anything they had owned.

Monkeypuzzle32 · 22/08/2017 21:26

' Need gone' bugs the life out of me, it's such a crap thing to say and such poor grammar. Why don't they say 'need it gone'?

monkeywithacowface · 22/08/2017 21:29

Cash waiting bugs the shit out of me. As does "buyer to dismantle." Fucks sake get a screwdriver out you lazy sod.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/08/2017 21:34

I don't like "cash waiting". It sounds really cocky to me! Like "give me your washing machine now - you'd better not keep my cash waiting!" Confused

"Need gone" doesn't really bother me - it's how people around here talk anyway.

MoanaofMotunui · 22/08/2017 21:38

"Just needs a clean"... oh the joys!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/08/2017 21:39

Oh yes, "buyer to dismantle"!

If you're offering to give away your old trampoline to anyone who fancies taking it apart then fine.

If you want £150 for your child's cabin bed, old shed etc. then have the common decency to have it ready for collection!

ForeverLivingMyArse · 22/08/2017 21:40

Need gone but I'm still expecting £300 for a 15 year old stained sofa.

Lucyccfc · 22/08/2017 21:44

Nothing wrong with saying 'buyer dismantle' if you are selling a swing/slide/climbing frame set that cost £800 and are more or less giving it away for £70.

I got asked would I dismantle and deliver and put back up for £70!

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/08/2017 21:57

You bit their hands off of course Lucy? 😁

WomblingThree · 22/08/2017 22:00

I always figure they "need gone" before the police come round looking for the stolen goods.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 22/08/2017 22:02

We also get quite a lot of people posting things like "moving into new flat. Need washer, fridge, sofas, plates, cups etc. etc" Then when people reply along the lines "I've got a washer £50 - collection X location" it becomes apparent that they were looking for people to "gift" them things - and deliver of course!

dolcezza99 · 22/08/2017 22:04

I see "need gone", I think "illiterate".

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 22/08/2017 22:07

What boils my piss even more than "needs gone" is when people advertize "shoe's", "book's" etc. Fuck a moose! I'm queen of the typos (typo's? 😁) but it's not a typo, it's as if they took an apostrophe laxative!

BoysofMelody · 22/08/2017 22:09

Or 'no time wasters' in relation to cars. It is arrogance beyond words to describe anyone who turns up and doesn't part with the asking price for the rusty shit heap you've misrepresented in the classified advert, as a time waster

imsureihaveshrunk · 22/08/2017 22:14

Need gone drives me nuts - if you need it gone that much, just throw away whatever bit of shite it is that you are trying to peddle

Intheknickersoftime · 22/08/2017 22:16

£10 or its going to the tip tomorrow, i mean what? Just give it away if you think its that worthless.

ForeverLivingMyArse · 22/08/2017 22:21

Chester draws

Need gone

tigercub50 · 22/08/2017 22:22

I'm intelligent & articulate & I don't mind " need gone". I've used it myself in ads

tigercub50 · 22/08/2017 22:22

Chester draws on the other hand.........
