re 'Cash waiting' and 'need gone'?

I just find these phrases pointless. I kind of assume people posting an ad on facebook in search of something will have money to pay for it. And I really don't care if someone 'needs' something to go, that's not going to affect my decision to buy it or not.

I love the clearly stolen goods which are advertised regularly-
'Gillette razors £5'
Need gone no offers

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 22/08/2017 22:26

Shabby Chick
Light brown puffy
And
Corner sweet.

Not really sales related, but people from around here always type "Ano" instead of "I know"...drives me batshit!

FannyDaggers · 22/08/2017 22:26

The one that really annoys me are sales posts for clothes or sunglasses with the request "no try ons" - why would I buy something like that without trying it on? Weird!

SistersOfPercy · 22/08/2017 22:27

I like £10 of gone today. I'm an argumentative cow and have asked how much tomorrow before now.

I find the phrase 'cash waiting' a bit irritating. Don't know why. As if they're special because they can afford it and nobody else can. Never heard of need gone.

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 22/08/2017 22:29

There's one on my local one: I expressed an interest in a mirror in April. It was a "needs gone today". Every three days or so, I get a "* also commwnted on her post". She types "sfs". What's the point?

ForeverLivingMyArse · 22/08/2017 22:30

I just remembered one I seen the other night. 1 seater sofa.

So an armchair?

AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley · 22/08/2017 22:31

Forever it may have been a Corner Sweet! 😁

ShapelyBingoWing · 22/08/2017 22:33

"Need gone" always makes me chuckle when it's something like a panpipes CD they're selling for 50p. As if they couldn't possibly hold on to it for a bit because they don't have the space Grin

Theresnonamesleft · 22/08/2017 22:35

Needs gone doesn't bother me.
A few times I will find something that needs gone, but for whatever reason, I cannot get it the same day. I will message the buyer to say if you still have it on X date I am interested. Same with the sell today others skip tomorrow. The seller knows someone is interested.

No time wasters doesn't just include rusty cars. There are many people out there who will express interest. Ask a million questions. Ask when they can come collect/look and never show up.

Viviennemary · 22/08/2017 22:37

And sort after for sought after. Can't they see it makes no sense whatsoever.

Theresnonamesleft · 22/08/2017 22:37

Cash waiting I see a lot on the sparkly selling pages.
I need sum sparkli shit 4 ma sista. Cash w8in

TallulahBetty · 22/08/2017 22:39

GrinGrinGrin at 'one seater sofa'

TallulahBetty · 22/08/2017 22:41

Woman on our local one keeps trying to sell a 'brown leather puff'. It took me until she added a picture later, that I realised she meant a POOF! Mind was boggling before then...

fatowl · 22/08/2017 22:42

Someone on my local one keeps bumping a "'great opportunity" for a professional make up artist to come and do her entire bridal party in Sept. She can't pay but happy to give a recommendation once they've done a good job.

TallulahBetty · 22/08/2017 22:42

Pouffe* ahahaha

Sunshinegirls · 22/08/2017 22:47

I agree Boysofmelody.
"Relisted due to time wasters" is rude and arrogant. Getting narky because someone changed their mind

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 22/08/2017 22:48

YANBU at all OP. It makes me fume Grin

Voice0fReason · 22/08/2017 22:56

As does "buyer to dismantle." Fucks sake get a screwdriver out you lazy sod.
Why automatically assume the seller is a lazy sod? There could be dozens of reasons why the seller can't dismantle. As long as you know that when you agree the price - it's perfectly reasonable. And some people want to see it in tact. If you think it is priced too high as you have to take it apart - don't buy it.

TrishanFlips · 22/08/2017 23:11

I assumed "Need gone" was short for "My need for this item has gone, hence why I'm selling. ". Realise now it means, "This item needs to be gone, hence you're likely to get a bargain". Lol

bbcessex · 22/08/2017 23:28

I've been told it's easier to reassemble if you've dismantled something yourself, hence many prefer to.

Not that I've tested the theory!

BoysofMelody · 23/08/2017 00:44

'No test pilots' on cars.

Fair enough if you have a desirable fast car that will attract boy ravers chancing their arm and driving/thrashing a car around for half an hour they have no intention of buying, however it has started to creep onto add for mundane cars.

01Plate Vauxhall Zafira Diesel 200k on the clock. No test pilots.

Or 'No MoT will 'sail through the test.' If it is that certain of passing, why not put it through yourself and sell it for considerably more with 12 months MoT? You're either lazy, stupid or you've realised that it hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of passing!

Chester draws is the ultimate as mentioned by pp Grin. Proper gear grinder for me.

VelvetSpoon · 23/08/2017 01:02

Loathe both of these.

There was an Antick clock for sale the other day.

Took me a while to figure out they meant antique.

We have lots of chester draws, and once a bizarre chest o'draws!
