To try and park in this space (diagram!)

So I need to work at a different office today, they have a small car park (see diagram)
Is it physically possible to park in the top space if my boss is parked in his space
It's very tight (diagram not really to scale)
I don't think I can drive into the space but I can't reverse up the alley way as my mirrors are almost touching the walls each side
Shall I just block my boss in then move my car when he leaves?
And no I'm not a massively shit driver just not confident reversing in tiny spaces surrounded by brick walls

Doesn't look very easy to park there

Can you leave the car on the street?

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 08:51

(Car is me driving in not knowing what to do!)

It's all half hour parking on the street and I'm there 6 hours

Ooo depends on your car, if your not blocking anyone but your boss in and not causing an obstruction for anybody wanting to walk anywhere i would block your boss in and just move it if he needs you to

SummerKelly · 09/08/2017 08:52

I don't think I could do that, but aren't you going to have to reverse down the alleyway to get out if your boss is there?

JustMumNowNotMe · 09/08/2017 08:53

How big is your car?!

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 08:54

It's a small car, a lot of the people who live in the flats are out during the day so I could block my boss in, then move into their space while he leaves then park back in his space

I have a tiny car. More of a big overcoat really
We have a similar space at work that is always free because nobody can get into it
I can reverse into it. I wouldn't go in forwards

Brittbugs80 · 09/08/2017 08:56

If you don't reverse in, are you not going to have to reverse out?

Are all the ones for the flats taken or could you use one to turn yourself round then reverse into the space next to Boss?

Or find a different car park? Or get the train/bus.

I hate parking so personally I'd choose one of the other options!

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 08:57

I'm a bit worried I'll get in the space and won't be able to get out without scraping my car on the walls

Namechangetempissue · 09/08/2017 08:59

Go in and say to boss there are no spaces and you don't want to risk dinging his doors with yours so you have blocked him in and please ask when he needs to leave and you will move your car. No problem with that. We do it all the time at work.

JacquesHammer · 09/08/2017 08:59

Reverse out, reverse back in and reverse into the space.

Obviously we don't know how large your car is but getting into the space with a smaller car shouldn't be an issue

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 08:59

It depends how close to the wall my boss parks if there will be enough room for me to drive or reverse in, if his car is sticking out there won't be much swing room iyswim

Laiste · 09/08/2017 08:59

If you don't think you can get in it, block your boss and go straight in and tell her/him what you've done and ask if it's ok.

If it is, when they leave you can move.

I have to say if it's walls all round except one side in a car park that small then it usually makes for a too tight space. Bushes are much more forgiving Grin

Gunpowder · 09/08/2017 09:03

Yeh just block your boss in and tell him to let you know when he wants to leave. I can't see anyone being upset by that.

goldensyrupisshit · 09/08/2017 09:03

Block him in then move the car when he leaves or failing that chuck him your keys and say he can move it Grin

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 09:08

I need to get ready or I'll be late, I'll update when I've parked!

SoupDragon · 09/08/2017 09:11

If your boss has a small car and your car isn't big then I would say it is possible to reverse in but not in one go. There will be some back and forth faffing about.

I'd just block your boss in and tell him to let yo know when he wants to leave.

GU24Mum · 09/08/2017 09:12

I'd block him in but move up as far as I can so you aren't blocking the Flat 1 space. Just say that it was a bit tight getting in and if he needs you to move before you go to let you know. It won't make any difference to him so he shouldn't mind.

pinkdelight · 09/08/2017 09:16

Where on earth do they expect you to park? Because if all those spaces are for flats then the office doesn't have a car park at all, just one space for the boss. Where does everyone else there park? There must be a car park close by or some kind of on-street option. Nowhere has only 30-mins spaces or a non-space in a non-car park to choose from, surely?

KitKat1985 · 09/08/2017 09:17

I'd block your boss in too, and just move if he needs to get out.

Travis1 · 09/08/2017 09:20

Not worth the stress I'd just block your boss in.

Notanothernamechangeaddict · 09/08/2017 09:23

There's a pay and display around the corner or a housing estate 10 minute walk away
It's a small rural town, everyone who works there lives there so walks to work, I'm coming from a different town, boss lives out in the sticks so drives
