To be FURIOUS that dh drove home with dd2 in the car without putting her in her booster seat?

Well in fact I know that I am completely justified.

Nobboid

She was having a complete strop when he left his mums to bring her and dd1 home. Dd1 was fine, dd2 refused to get in her chair so he took it out and put her on the seat with the seatbelt on.

1 min drive but that is not the sodding point.

Can you all glare at him through this screen please so he gets the MN disapproving vibes?

I thank you

Olive

Mr Oil...you know she knows now that if she strops you will let her get away with not putting her in her seat? Which will make it even harder next time? Ha - you didn't think of that did you? I am extremely disapproving and I bet your ears are burning right now.

beansprout · 28/03/2007 20:48

How many parents end up in casualty with their kids bleating, "I didn't think it would happen... I just thought.... " blah blah. NOT good enough. They didn't bring in a law for want of something better to do you know.

Shame on you for risking your dd for the sake of your own convenience.

crazylazydaisy · 28/03/2007 20:55

Mr Oil!!!
Dont you know that most accidents happen "just round the corner?"

malaleche · 28/03/2007 20:55

I don't drive so sometimes, not very often, I take taxis with the DDs. DD1 3.5 yo wears a seatbelt tho just the bit over her lap as the diagonal bit would go across her face and neck, I wear a seatbelt and DD2 goes in my arms. I now it's not good enough but how else am i supposed to do it?

hatwoman · 28/03/2007 20:56

how old is she?

oliveoil · 28/03/2007 20:56

he is normally very good at managing her strops but think he just wanted to get her home

I put him right on that one

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

she will be twice as bad tomorrow, definitely

God he's human. She made it in one piece. Relax.

oliveoil · 28/03/2007 20:57

2.6yrs

and don't I know it [tantrum emoticon]

I would have strapped her in Victorian style and shouted all the way home

oliveoil · 28/03/2007 20:58

hatwoman · 28/03/2007 20:58

2.6 you're not unreasonable. 5 or 6 I might have said otherwise.

mytwopenceworth · 28/03/2007 20:59

You. Did. A. Bad. Bad. Thing.

it only takes a second. and you can be the best, most careful driver in the world. you don't know what loony is coming at you. an accident can happen right outside your front door.

and what have you done - now she thinks that a tantrum will get her her own way.

oliveoil · 28/03/2007 20:59

he is making me houmous and pitta in the kitchen

ha

edam · 28/03/2007 21:00

Tell him to stop being so comfy and start looking guilty again. (I have done that in taxis, though, when there hasn't been any other option.)

oliveoil · 29/03/2007 15:45

right

he is collecting her again in half an hour and she was a struggle this morning apparently

so I need more glares and vibes please

he can't lie and say she went in her chair if she didn't as I have a spy in the form of dd1

will report back on his behaviour later

hmmmm
