The baby was born prematurely and so they decided to call him Prem.

Is that weird?

Bollocks.

OverTheHammer · 28/07/2017 21:10

No worse than slithery

leafv · 28/07/2017 21:11

I'm a teacher, trust me anything goes these days!

jeaux90 · 28/07/2017 21:11

It's short for a longer Polish name that I can't spell Grin

ArmySal · 28/07/2017 21:12

No worse than Ova, she was overdue.

JackTwist · 28/07/2017 21:13

It's an Indian name though. Are they Indian?

JackTwist · 28/07/2017 21:13

Or it's literally because he was premature?

holeinmypocket · 28/07/2017 21:14

Think Prem means love in Nepali

BootsWithDresses · 28/07/2017 21:15

Definitely not Indian. He's called Prem because he was born premature.

Yes, my son is Earl.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 28/07/2017 21:16

That's worse than Justin.

VladmirsPoutine · 28/07/2017 21:17

Middle name Arther?

softlyspokensophie · 28/07/2017 21:17

For the same reason!

x2boys · 28/07/2017 21:19

I used to know a prem I think he was from the Maldives?

Strawberrybubblebath · 28/07/2017 21:19

I kne a premature ban called Lucky Boy.
I also am not keen on premature babies called Hope. Hope is a nice name but it just means the child is always labelled as 'the poor little premature baby'. I can't imagine they will always want to have that label.
Or Melody. Again a lovely name but what if they can't sing/are non musical?
Or Storm. What if they are really quiet and shy?

PsychoPumpkin · 28/07/2017 21:22

You're pulling our leg, no? Confused

BarbaraBitchFace · 28/07/2017 21:22

So what? Their baby their name. as a teacher I encounter ever weirder and more wonderful names every year!

FerretsAreFeminists · 28/07/2017 21:23

I call bullshit Grin

MsPassepartout · 28/07/2017 21:25

Sounds odd to me.

Have the parents actually said that this is the reason behind the name?

divadee · 28/07/2017 21:25

It is an Indian name. My mum has a friend called Prema and she is Indian.

winglesspegasus · 28/07/2017 21:46

friend"modess"

twattymctwatterson · 28/07/2017 21:47

Does he have a sister called Frogmella?

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 28/07/2017 21:48

Nothing wrong with that, my firstborn is called Caesar Ean

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 28/07/2017 21:49

DS was kind of squished when born.

Should've named him Cauliflower Head.

Might be a good way to name children?

BalloonSlayer · 28/07/2017 21:55

My DS1 - Ento Nox (after Angelina Jolie)

DD - Morphia

DS2 - Catheter. Was worried about "Cathy" for short but tell him just to insist on the full version.
