To think this is too much gin?

I'm getting a bit concerned about how much DH drinks by himself.

Last night he put away half a bottle of gin. A small 70cl bottle, but all the same 🤔 . Not a special night or anything, just an after work drink in front of the telly .

I don't drink much and growing up my family weren't big drinkers either so I accept I might have a conservative idea of what's ok/ normal/ problematic.
But really, I think last night was 15-20 units. By himself. He does this 1-2 times a week and is v defensive about it. Should I just chill out or does he have a budding drinking problem?

I might just like to stipulate that I only drank the gin because I’m house sitting in the middle of nowhere and was bored!

Pub measures are 35 ml these days, so he's had five doubles and a couple of beers (I doubt he had ten individual g&ts just hefty home measures) , what time did start drinking, stop drinking and when this morning did he drive?

Well seeing as he drunk the gin over a year ago, I think it was probably out of his system by this morning.

Half of 70 cl is 35 cl. If the gin is 35% alcohol that's over 10 cl = 10 units of alcohol in one night, 70 units a week.
Ok it's rather a lot I admit.

My partner drank a whole bottle of gin yesterday (a lovely sunny Sunday). I'd left for a seminar Saturday evening and he'd got himself a bottle of wine in. I presumed he'd recover on Sunday - maybe eat out and drink at lunchtime then sleep it off and fine for my return. However he claims he didn't eat all day and just drank a bottle of gin. Totally legless when I got back at 7pm... typically very defensive "I'm a good guy, I'm not unfaithful or a woman beater and I need my fun" What fun is that drinking alone all day in the flat? We have been together 18 years and are very happy except for this alcohol cloud. Where do I go for help as he does not think he has a problem claiming he's a rock n roll guy and was like this when I met him.

It is 5 double gin and tonics. Not 12 gins.

How long a period was it over?

I think it's too much. He is starting to get a big problem
