name change for this as it gives away location.

this roundabout does my bloody head in. particularly to go from redlands down bournemouth road. do it multiple times a day and everyone seems to take it sifferently. what lane would you use?

I think we need a diagram!

Twickerhun · 19/07/2017 21:18

The middle one.
Indicate right just to be clear

StillDrivingMeBonkers · 19/07/2017 21:18

Sorry but your picture is useless unless you tell us where you are coming from and which exit you are taking

BusyBeez99 · 19/07/2017 21:19

Redlands to bmth road I would use left hand one. Right hand in this occasion is for right only. Been round this many times

CrochetBelle · 19/07/2017 21:20

It's a roundabout. How does it differ from any other?

user1492287253 · 19/07/2017 21:20

what do the road signs say?

Livedandlearned · 19/07/2017 21:21

Middle lane and indicate after the A35 exit then go into the outside lane and then leave roundabout.

honeysucklejasmine · 19/07/2017 21:21

Both Redlands and Bournemouth look like dual carriageways. Personally I would take left lane and come off to left lane of Bournemouth, buy could also take right lane and come off to right lane too, if traffic made that the sensible thing to do.

Twickerhun · 19/07/2017 21:22

I posted before I saw the picture. Sadly a picture makes this an actual sensible question rather than an obscure point

fuckingroundabout · 19/07/2017 21:22

there isnt any markings coming from redlands. theres two lanes coming off.

I end up popping down redlands for chocolate most days and if I do the left hand lane coming out I get cut up by someone in the right and vice versa. I always assumed left hand unless signed otherwise but it seems to be a nightmare for no obvious reason

dementedpixie · 19/07/2017 21:22

Looks like left would be most appropriate as there is only one exit lane

AnathemaPulsifer · 19/07/2017 21:23

Unless indicated otherwise it's the left lane to go straight on. Perhaps consult the Highway Code for any future driving confusion?

BusyBeez99 · 19/07/2017 21:23

Redlands isn't dual carriageway. It's left hand lane then indicate to go into
Bmth road. The second roundabout is always the killer - just off screen

eurochick · 19/07/2017 21:23

I don't understand why people are saying middle. It looks like there are two lanes from Redlands onto the roundabout. I would take the left hand lane, unless the road markings indicate I should do otherwise.

AnathemaPulsifer · 19/07/2017 21:24

Crossposted. People can be idiots on big roundabouts so drive v carefully!

mymycherrypie · 19/07/2017 21:24

What Busybees said. I was taught the same by my instructor. Right hand lane for right turn only.

jollygoose · 19/07/2017 21:25

you use the middle lane until you have passed the road on lhs then move immediately in to left hand lane.

My neck of the woods I often use the retail park.

dementedpixie · 19/07/2017 21:25

Looks like only one lane on Bournemouth road so you can't really use both lanes of roundabout

fuckingroundabout · 19/07/2017 21:26

Beez I find the other one has better driving skills than this one. the amount of people that just pull out in front of you is scary!

sadly I live just off the bloody things

Lj8893 · 19/07/2017 21:26

I know this roundabout well. You need to be in the left hand lane. The reason why you are confused is because there are stupid people who can't drive properly, particularly in this area!

I try to avoid that road at all costs Grin

fuckingroundabout · 19/07/2017 21:27

will stick to my guns and keep using the left hand lane, keep doubting myself because of the amount of near misses

OP posts:
fuckingroundabout · 19/07/2017 21:28

Lj i have no choice!

Get Ocado to deliver?

HoneyIshrunktheBiscuit · 19/07/2017 21:31

That's not a difficult roundabout. This is a difficult roundabout.
