Am I a horrible snob?
Here are mine:
Bowls of pebbles on coffee table (why?)
Black and diamanté furniture
Photos printed onto canvas (CRAP quality just get a good photographic print and frame it!)
Those shiny duvet sets and cushions
Fire surround but no fire place (not) even a hole in the wall!

As in chesterfield sofas/chairs.

Trollspoopglitter · 16/07/2017 23:41

Yes, to sell a house. Not to take the piss out of their personal taste.

Tapandgo · 16/07/2017 23:41

Gigantic TV's or wall mounted TV's
Red in a sitting room
Animal print
Net curtains
Vertical blinds (unless in an office)
Collections of dolls, pigs or similar
Teak furniture
Patterned carpets
Feature walls
Portraits of family pets
Plastic topiary balls (just why?)
Bare walls
Cuckoo clocks
Bars in living room (get to the pub)

NC1990 · 16/07/2017 23:42

Rugs on carpet - arghh just why.

ghostyslovesheets · 16/07/2017 23:42

well if they turn up on this thread I will be sure to say sorry

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 16/07/2017 23:43

Metro tiles - yes to the PP who said they look like public loos!
Fake grass - I saw some the other day and physically recoiled
Showers over roll-top baths - they require a shower curtain that's just the perfect shape to stick all round you.

Words on the wall - bathe, eat, sleep, love etc. in fact, words and slogans generally
Oh I don't know, I'd rather like "fuck" and "wank" on my bedroom wall, and "shit" in the bathroom Wink

I enjoy this

Oh yes, very entertaining Grin

I love subway tiles. They look cool as fuck in our kitchen so there.
And I can't decorate without Pinterest Grin

treaclesoda · 16/07/2017 23:44

I'm not sure I could say I hate it but I do find it odd when people decorate for the house they would like, rather than the house they have. Eg new build semi decorated like a country cottage.

treaclesoda · 16/07/2017 23:46

I like subway tiles too. Loved them before they became fashionable and still love them now. I only like rectangular tiles actually, I don't like square tiles at all, no matter what size, colour or design they are. I can't explain why not though, there's no logic to it Confused

ScrumDinger · 16/07/2017 23:48

I admire people who go for the look they want whether it suits their house or not. There was a great doc on Channel 4 a while ago about people who'd decorated their council houses in all sorts of wild and wonderful ways. One guy had turned his high rise flat into a luxury cruise liner cabin, another man had covered his house in his version of Renaissance murals. I loved the scale of their ambition.

This wallpaper makes my skin crawl and is almost a phobia of mine

Venture family photos are so awful - it's a disgrace how much they charge for them, can't stand their ugliness. All things matching from the same shop, like a whole lounge with everything matchy matchy from Laura Ashley or Next. So unimaginative. Tv as the focal point. Feature walls. Words everywhere.... ugh the words. Patterned bedding. Nowhere to hang coats or out shoes so the hallway looks a permanat mess.

ScrumDinger · 16/07/2017 23:52

Fleur-de-lis.

mygorgeousmilo · 16/07/2017 23:53

Refilona oh my god yes!! I would quite harshly judge someone with that on a feature wall with an ugly cheap fireplace with no fire. hangs head in shame

putonyourdancingshoes · 16/07/2017 23:54

City themed wallpaper/decor. Envy

Nothing wrong with a completely tiled bathroom. Those who only part tile do so because it is a cheaper option of which looks unfinished to my eyes! I go for the things I like and don't give a damn what others think, they don't have to live in my house! I don't judge others on their taste.

AlrightBabby · 16/07/2017 23:58

Ornaments of any kind - blah!!!

And poor quality decorating, sand it down first for christsakes Angry

Cantspell2 · 16/07/2017 23:59

Ensuite bathrooms. I know everyone else seems to think they are a must have but to me it is just taking a shit in your bedroom.
Much prefer a separate loo and bathroom down the hallway with 2 close able doors between my bed and loo smells.

Gaelforce · 16/07/2017 23:59

Also the idea that 'eclectic' means a house full of random jumbled up crap. Grin
Love it

Storminateapot · 17/07/2017 00:04

I haven't rtft but I can't abide those metro tiles. They make me think of appalling Victorian public loos that should have been condemned. I can almost smell carbolic soap & human effluvia in the air at the mere sight of them.

RagingCunt · 17/07/2017 00:05

Bluntness I thought you said you had a massive COCK in your kitchen... #lucky

ScrumDinger · 17/07/2017 00:06

Effluvia is a great word.

BewareTheUndertoad · 17/07/2017 00:12

Deep red dining rooms, who wants to eat in a womb?
Travertine tiles, like 90's hotel bathrooms
Beige and brown
Huge patterned statement walls
Flourescent kitchen accessories and utensils
Anything orange
Glossy kitchens
Grey on the outside of a house
Magnolia
