Am I a horrible snob?
Here are mine:
Bowls of pebbles on coffee table (why?)
Black and diamanté furniture
Photos printed onto canvas (CRAP quality just get a good photographic print and frame it!)
Those shiny duvet sets and cushions
Fire surround but no fire place (not) even a hole in the wall!

Pictures on walls- any pictures at all.

Oh I couldn't live with bare walls.

DaviesMum · 16/07/2017 23:02

Fluffy loo seat covers and matching piss mat.

You mean pedestal mat Grin

My mum used to commit this crime and I remember throwing them out the bathroom window each time she bought a new one. When the neighbour finally cut down her tree, you guessed it, full of piss mat frisbees!

ScrumDinger · 16/07/2017 23:03

I'm not a fan of short curtains either. They look so mean.

Flumpernickel · 16/07/2017 23:03

Feeling very smug that I took a (albeit crap) picture of a very stilty seagull in the holiday lodge I have just returned from! The lodge was beautiful, but these things did seem to be breeding there, as there was another one in my ensuite bathroom. Grin

Glitzy stuff, trompe l'oeill murals, terracota pots in gardens, and pictures hanged too high

I adore terracotta pots.

ChasingHighs · 16/07/2017 23:04

Yes those are the tiles. They do look like mortuary tiles. Never seen a kitchen or bathroom where they add anything. But they are all the rage.apparently.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 16/07/2017 23:05

Anything my brother in law has chosen or worse, made. His current worst offence is a framed photo of his baby's feet, BLOWN UP so the tiny baby feet are adult sized.

The only thing I really really hate are curtain which don't reach the floor, especially in living rooms. If you don't want long curtains then blinds look so much better than short curtains.

AgainPlease · 16/07/2017 23:06

Oh OP Sad I have a black and diamanté headboard...

There's a hipster cafe in London with original metro tiles...............as it was originally a Victorian men's toilet!

Would anyone want to sit at one of these urinals whilst knocking back their espresso?

I've never been in a provincial brothel but I imagine if I had this is what I'd find.

That's hilarious. I bet the hipsters think they are so cool drinking their deconstructed lattes in a mens bog.

BuzzKillington · 16/07/2017 23:14

Pleather brown corner sofas.

Venture type family photos.

Family slogans in modern calligraphy, i.e. 'the Jones Famalam'.

'Fun' wall art, often about prosecco or friends or family or some such.

Matchy-matchy stuff, esp in kitchens.

And the worst - lines from Disney drawn on the wall of a child's room. e.g. 'When you wish upon a star...'

Vomitous.

Ketzele · 16/07/2017 23:15

What do they call that style - coastal, seaside? All whitewash and blue, with boats and thick rope everywhere.

Loathe it.

AfunaMbatata · 16/07/2017 23:16

Those dentist style blinds vertical blinds that almost everyone seems to have up.

ihavetoWORK · 16/07/2017 23:17

Feeling rather smug here that I got to the end of the thread with only 2 things mentioned - and I don't agree for practical purposes.

TV on wall (cables in wall, toddler who likes to poke the TV, limited floor space for a TV stand that will just gather dust and offers no practical storage)

Artificial grass (We have no access to our back garden so have to wheel the lawnmower through the house, and we have a dog so it's easier to disinfect)

Oh actually I also have one room that has very high walls, so I hang my pictures a little higher in there because otherwise it would look odd.

Further dislikes include that Orla Keily wallpaper

shaggedthruahedgebackwards camelfinger Are you DP?? He makes this comment every time we're going to bed. Grin

Pet hates:
Poor quality carpet
Poor quality leather sofas (especially if black or brown)
'Neutral' colours
Empty walls
Glass furniture (why??)

I guess that's all stuff the screams rented accommodation...

Ketzele · 16/07/2017 23:19

Colour-changing LED lights.

Floor-level spotlights under your kitchen cabinets.

Twin sinks.

Chalk-painted furniture with the edges sanded off.

Boutique style anything.

Cheap copper accessories.

Jeez, this thread is cathartic. I had no idea I hated so many things.

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 16/07/2017 23:19

All this repetetive stuff on the Facebook DIY Facebook pages. Broken bloody mirror pieces on fireplaces, stairs, any ducking surface they can find. The patchwork frogtape walls of many colors, glitter paint or glitter goo on absolutely fucking everything . Shiny silver velour. The weird stairs with stuff stuck on them and words on them , Those pages have some lovely ideas but most is utter shit and very amusing.

FiftyShadesOfDuckEggBlue · 16/07/2017 23:20

*that screams

ScrumDinger · 16/07/2017 23:21

and we have a dog so it's easier to disinfect

Er, do people generally disinfect their lawn?
