I'm not a thief I promise!

Picked up a bottle of prosecco on the way home as a rare treat to celebrate my first week at work.

Got home and realise they've left the security lock topper thing on it. Went to walk to the nearest supermarket to beg for help (bought from supermarket near work a 45 min bus ride away) but realised I didn't take the receipt from the self checkout Sad

Can anyone help? I've been pulling and pulling. I'm skint and have been looking forward to this all week Blush

milliemolliemou · 07/07/2017 22:26

And what's more despite two broken knives and a burnt hand, I bet Prosecco never tasted so good. Well done and good luck with the new job - and enjoy the rest of the weekend as well.

I'll be checking all my bottles from now on - I, too, only thought they went on spirits ....

Well done MN.

Oldraver · 07/07/2017 22:32

We've had this happen twice, both bottles of whiskey in a box. The first one was from a shop 5 miles away and OH just hit it and wiggled the top off.

The second was a security tag that obviously didnt work as we weren't chased out of Asda

PengiQuin · 07/07/2017 22:59

That looks much easier to cut through raver, I'm jealous.

Thanks guys, love you all. It was actually quite flat, not sure why did the tiny opening suck all the fizziness out? My theory

Oh and my kitten knocked a glass over. Butttttt I'm lovely and tipsy and I couldn't help but enjoy the flat prosecco after the trauma to get it open. Plus I figured I burned so many calories sawing away that I could have some French bread slathered in real butter with cheese and crisps. And love island was epic. And I've got clean sheets and shaved legs. And I absolutely love my new job and am looking forward to go back on Monday, which I've never ever felt before.

So chin chin to one and all 🥂 hope you're all having the most lovely evening.

I am going to stop reading Mumsnet for the night now - this is a great bedtime story.
