is it prudish to dislike the show ?

anniroc · 30/06/2017 20:21

I would say YANBU but others will disagree. Surely you look forward to seeing someone you fancy loads naked later on (adds to the excitement) rather than immediately!

Lxuxcxkxy · 30/06/2017 20:22

I like it Grin

Covfefe · 30/06/2017 20:24

It's awful. Cringy, cheap, yuk!

expatinscotland · 30/06/2017 20:25

It's cringey. Just, leave something to the imagination.

StickThatInYourPipe · 30/06/2017 20:25

Don't like it don't watch it - simple

MarcelineTheVampire · 30/06/2017 20:25

I've tried to watch it twice and just cringed....

TitaniasCloset · 30/06/2017 20:26

I saw it advertised on loose women. Fanjos out in public, no thanks I think its disgusting.

Littlechip · 30/06/2017 20:33

It's gimmicky and actually quite boring. I don't think someone could call you prudish for finding this show distasteful because it just IS distasteful. YANBU.

honeylulu · 30/06/2017 20:47

When they do that spinning thing at the end and end up with their clothes ON I think "ah, don't they look nice!"

Sparklingbrook · 30/06/2017 20:50

I saw it once. I think it's quite an interesting idea for a show and people obviously want to go on it.

TitaniasCloset · 30/06/2017 20:52

But why? Why would anyone want to go on it?

Sparklingbrook · 30/06/2017 20:55

Same as Embarrassing Bodies or Big Brother. Why would anyone want to go on those?
But they do.

Reastie · 30/06/2017 20:57

I get emails from tv companies for audience tickets and they kept emailing me repeatedly asking for contestants to go on the show, so they must struggle to find anyone willing (and no, there's no way I'd go on it!).

Sparklingbrook · 30/06/2017 20:58

There's always weird/dodgy requests for people to go on TV shows in the Media Requests topic on here.

user1498851089 · 30/06/2017 20:58

I saw it once, and felt devastated when someone remarked on a woman's 'untidy labia', saying they'd never seen anything like it before. My genitals were never anything the media had informed me I should be ashamed of before, but this gave me a brand new feeling of shame.

MitzyLeFrouf · 30/06/2017 21:02

It's a mix of nudie liberated and polite British.

'What do you think of Mr Blue's willy'

'Oh yes, Mr Blue's willy is very nice. Not too thick and a nice colour'

'Mr Green has a friendly looking willy and Mr Yellow's willy isn't quite so big as the others but it also looks very pleasant'

It's so unsexy. And why are the men all shaving their pubes off? KEEP YOUR PUBES ON PLEASE.

MotherPie · 30/06/2017 21:05

Nope not prudish, it's grim. I hate how they have no 'normal' female bodies, all are slim and toned. And yy to men with no pubes, it looks ugliee.Never seen a shaven man IRL.

RoseVase2010 · 30/06/2017 21:08

I like the fact's showing a generation 'bought up on porn' that dicks, fannys and tits come in all shapes and sizes.

I actually think it's a cheap thrill hiding a deeper good message.

Lulukat · 30/06/2017 21:10

thanks your insights mirror mine phew

The nudity isn't the problem it is some of the questions.

harderandharder2breathe · 30/06/2017 21:24

I watched it during a period of insomnia last year. I found the comments were all spun positively, even if it wasn't exactly what the person was looking for.

It's not something I'd normally watch and my main comment afterwards that I've never seen so many genitals and I never wanted to!

Italiangreyhound · 30/06/2017 21:26

YANBU, it's awful.

I also feel if your relationship starts but looking a someone naked in a plastic box after seeing 5 other naked people in plastic boxes, then maybe you will either have a great future or no future together.

I think it is also quite oddly nonsexual'. The way they hug at the end they ... I watched one episode... it just seemed very matter of fact.

If you can't get excited about nakedness then it seems there is one less thing in the world to be 'special'.

Yes, OP I am happy to be a prude too!

sabs22 · 30/06/2017 21:29

I'd disagree that all the bodies are toned and perfect, there's definitely a variety of body shapes and sizes, big, small, fat, thin and all sorts in between!

EdmundCleverClogs · 30/06/2017 21:31

Oh we love it here. This week's episode was fab - there's a woman who sounds exactly like Ed Miliband, after hearing that all boobs and penises were not the focus of attention anymore Grin.

On a genuinely positive note, it does normalise naked bodies, in the sense of you get so many variations of genitalia and body shapes, it shows that there's no such thing as 'normal' or 'expected'.
