is it prudish to dislike the show ?

It's confirmed that looking at someone's naked body without seeing their face or knowing their personality leaves me absolutely cold. No one is sexy under those circumstances IMO.

WhatWouldGenghisDo · 30/06/2017 23:25

There are weird power imbalances when some people in an interaction are starkers and others aren't & I reckon that's really why people watch this. if everybody had their kit off it would just be like watching a bunch of randoms at a nudist camp and no one would bother.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/07/2017 07:49

WhatWouldGenghisDo

Except that everyone gets their kit off by the end...

I am very much of the opinion that women and men can choose what they do with their own bodies. Pubes or no pubes. Whatever they want is fine. Social norms do lean towards the bare look and that's not right but a whole bunch of MNers declaring they should all bush up is just as wrong. Let everyone do whatever they want to do!

Nocabbageinmyeye · 01/07/2017 08:00

An even better show would surely be

"My parents reaction when I told them I was going on Naked Attraction"

There has to be a serious amount of red faced what will June from bingo think arguments in those houses

Skrowten · 01/07/2017 08:05

I don't get why Anna Richardson is presenting this rubbish.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/07/2017 09:33

Why wouldn't she?

Rioja123 · 01/07/2017 16:45

I'm watching now and have to say it's pretty boring

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2017 16:58

Sue Perkins (AR's girlfriend) wrote this on Twitter. Sums it up. [grin[

Just one hour to go until that show you're TOTALLY DISGUSTED BY, and yet are SO GOING TO WATCH #nakedattraction #c4

Sparklingbrook · 01/07/2017 16:58

Grin even

BonnieF · 01/07/2017 17:17

Anna Richardson is correct. Naked attraction panders to the British public's taste for

A, cheap titillation &
B, hypocritical moralising.

Gingerandgivingzerofucks · 01/07/2017 17:22

Very weird. To purely go on the physical just doesn't sit well with me.

PratStick · 01/07/2017 17:25

On a genuinely positive note, it does normalise naked bodies, in the sense of you get so many variations of genitalia and body shapes, it shows that there's no such thing as 'normal' or 'expected'.

Yes but when they're objectified and people actually say 'I've never seen one like that' or 'Ilike that one it's neat and tidy'

Who is going to feel better for seeing a fanny like heirs when it's being verbally ripped apart.
I saw it yesterday for the first and last time. Made it through about ten minutes before I had to turn it off or I'd smash my friend's telly.

PratStick · 01/07/2017 17:25

Also all those vulvas looked so sad and cold and naked. They miss their fur coats.

CaptainBrickbeard · 01/07/2017 18:23

I haven't seen this show but I've seen Ex on the Beach and I'm worried for all the participants in these shows. How are they going to feel about this on later life and what will it do to their employment prospects? I feel like young and naive people are being badly exploited and I'm really uncomfortable with it.

Thinkingofausername1 · 01/07/2017 18:43

I saw some of it and thought wtf is this world coming too. I'm afraid I'm old fashioned and think a relationship is about love not your body. I fear for the generation my dd is growing up in

LaBrannagan · 21/10/2021 23:31

I get it people have different names to refer to the private parts but I dislike the way the presenter speaks. There was a wee girl who looked like Jessi J and the presenter spoke to her referring to the ladies as loads of fanny,The wee girl looked shocked,I think the presenter sounds like a hairy.
