To think no-one looks good with cheek fillers?

Yet those I know who have had it done think they look great.
But to me they look like they've just come out of the boxing ring, all un-naturally puffy with tiny slitty eyes.
Are they are so bigged up by the surgeons/filler people that they walk out brain washed, genuinely believing they look years younger and not like a middle aged woman with very unnatural pillow cheeks, which is all I see?!
Obviously, no one wants to look old and I myself will admit to being really quite vain but this is not a good look and never will be, imo. Each to their own I suppose.
Oh and don't get me going on the lip enhanced thing either!!

I've just seen Lydia Bright on Lorraine & she looks so different & as if she's aged a lot in a short space of time. As you say it's puffy looking... not that I know what she's had done or if she has but I don't think she looks natural at all.

Bumblebee2302 · 27/06/2017 08:46

Totally agree - they all end up looking exactly the same too. Somehow it gives people similar features. And those who deny it aren't fooling anyone - it's so obvious!

SeagullsStoleMyChurro · 27/06/2017 08:49

Oh goody, a thread slagging off other womens' appearances Hmm

Lunchtimeburrito · 27/06/2017 09:08

I don't see it as slagging off seagulls it just annoys me that plastic surgeons, aesthetics clinics and the media make money from women's insecurities and that there is nothing wrong with ageing normally and looking older, you can still look older and good without having a load of crap injected into your face, imo.

Simon Cowell springs to mind - he just looks ridiculous.

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 09:13

Agree. I had a meeting last week with a woman who'd obviously had loads plus Botox and was transfixed by the weirdness of her face.

I know people say that - if you have had really good fillers/Botox - no one can tell and you just look really well, but is that true?

reallyanotherone · 27/06/2017 09:20

I often meet women and am puzzled by the fact they seem to be speaking very slightly oddly, but can't put a finger on why. almost as if they're speaking through a pout..

Then i figure it, botox and they can't move their top lip, hence the slightly "off" speech.

So even if it's good botox you can always tell, speech and expressions change. People might not know why, or think it's just how you talk or smile, or it's your eyebrows, but they just haven't figured it out...

Has anyone noticed the great man Vladimir Putin? Old Vlad. the bad! He has tiny slits where his eyes should be. Someone should tell him, but he got rid of the only human alive who would do that for him, his poor long suffering wife.
Never mind, I'm here to fit the bill. Vlad. you look ridiculous.

OwlsinTowls · 27/06/2017 09:21

If you Google cheek fillers you can see plenty of more natural-looking ones, so I guess it depends on the surgeon and the client and how good it's done.

Lunchtimeburrito · 27/06/2017 09:23

I think the first couple of sessions you probably look good but then then addiction kicks in as in inevitably does and then your on your way to looking like the Bride of Wildenstein Shock

And why do these plastic surgeons on tv never look like they have ever had any work done. Quite happy to promote their products/procedures as being the must have thing but probably wouldn't touch them with a barge pole themselves!

For my money the best of them is Joanna Rowling ( Jk)
She has enough money to get it done right. She looks amazing, hasn't aged a day in twenty years! It's got to be the way to go, oh poo, I haven't got a spare billion about my person!

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 09:28

Love JK but none of us know what she looks like up close.

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 09:29

PS Just crack on and write your best selling children's series of all time, 123. What are you waiting for? Wink

moonfacebaby · 27/06/2017 09:32

I hate them too - I find it sad that women don't feel like they can age, even though I know it is a frightening process.

Even if they are subtle, there's just always something slightly off about their face - hard to put your finger on, but definitely detectable.

And if it's coupled with that shiny skin look (which I assume is Botox?), I just don't understand it.

I'm more than happy to dye my grey hair & look after my skin through diet & products, but personally, for me, I couldn't do it.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 09:32

Just a thought.... if JK has enough money to get it done right, I would have thought that Vlad. might be in a similar position, eg hands on the wealth of the entire Soviet Union..

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 09:36

Hmmmmm, now let me get started on my latest children's book. Sorry MN, haven't got time for all this frivolity here.

ArtemisiaGentilleschi · 27/06/2017 09:37

I don't think it's a thread slagging off people's appearance as such, it's a why do people buy into the idea that they need to splash the cash to pretend they aren't getting older.

I saw JK on a documentary the other night and her eyes have disappeared as well.

juneau · 27/06/2017 09:40

I agree. They don't look young, they just look weird. Madonna is starting to look like Jocelyn Wildenstein, Jennifer Aniston is starting to look puffy and odd too and as for Simon Cowell and dear old Pooty ... I don't think any of them has someone who has the balls to say 'You're starting to look like a freak - FGS step away from the bloody fillers!'.

To think no-one looks good with cheek fillers?

Amanduh · 27/06/2017 09:41

Jk's was looking good, but now she's had too much and her eyes are going. Seems most women 'celebrities' (or mostly OK magazine frequenters) go for it now. Amanda Holden's face is so puffed out she can barely move it, or blink.

FeralBeryl · 27/06/2017 09:43

Nope sorry, there are some wonderful fillers out there.
You would not know the majority of my clients have had them-if they are done properly, on people that actually need them.
By need, I mean the restoration of volume in the mid face, not making a perfectly lovely young face looking like a fucking lumpy pillow.
The unscrupulousness in the industry is rife unfortunately. For everyone I send away because they don't require a treatment, there are 2 more people behind me waiting to grab their money regardless.

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 09:44

Yeah but the same is true of rich men who dye their hair. They could afford to have it done really well, but they always look like they've used a cheapo tint from Poundstretcher - I'm looking at you, Paul McCartney.

alpacasandwich · 27/06/2017 09:45

JK is joining the ranks of the weird catwomen.

The best I've seen is probably Robyn Wright, but she still has a feline look about her that wasn't there when she was young.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 09:46

I suppose it's because ageing is the great big bogeyman. Everyone, no matter how beautiful, sexy they are Will definitely fade with time. So if it's possible to delay the inevitable, however skin deep that may be, people will do it.
I am as vain as the next person, happily splashing out £££ on the hair and products, but I would draw the line at injecting poisons into my face.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 09:48

That makes Vlad. Catman then!!!
