To think no-one looks good with cheek fillers?

Yet those I know who have had it done think they look great.
But to me they look like they've just come out of the boxing ring, all un-naturally puffy with tiny slitty eyes.
Are they are so bigged up by the surgeons/filler people that they walk out brain washed, genuinely believing they look years younger and not like a middle aged woman with very unnatural pillow cheeks, which is all I see?!
Obviously, no one wants to look old and I myself will admit to being really quite vain but this is not a good look and never will be, imo. Each to their own I suppose.
Oh and don't get me going on the lip enhanced thing either!!

But Feral isn't it's addictive quality that ends up making women looking so puffy. I know a lot of women who start off with a little Botox here and there and a touch of filler then a couple of years later they can't get off the merry go round and end up looking more humanoid than human?

It's not just women by an means! (to the pp who said this is women bashing).

There was something i was half watching recently when a plastic surgeon was talking about the issue of the unregulated nature of the industry and he looked bloody awful! His forehead was bulging with botox! Unusual because they usually look ok.

The whole 'look' is instantly recognisable. They're not fooling anyone at all. They look desperate, try hard and vain. Don't these people realise it? It draws more attention to their age than doing nothing would have!

Oh no...... that picture of Jennifer Aniston that juneau posted.
She was so lovely.
Jennifer stop right now !!!
Before it is too late.
Don't ruin your lovely face.

Lunchtimeburrito · 27/06/2017 09:52

I'm very vain but would hate to end up looking like this 😮

I think normally when it's the puffiness it's due to certain types of face lifts as well, and also fillers in the marrionette lines.

Cheek fillers should give you cheek bones, no more. Think Angelina jolie, she's taken it to the edge, where she has cheek fillers and also chin to smooth out her profile.

Some women look great with it but agree you can go too far. As said on the previous thread about this, the ones who do it well are not the ones discussed, it's always the ones who go too far.

Kate beckinsdale, Rachel Weizs, Angelina jolie, Christie brinkley. Gillian Anderson are all examples of women who have got it right.

For me, it's the lips that I think often look unnatural and are usually done badly.

Roomba · 27/06/2017 09:55

And why do these plastic surgeons on tv never look like they have ever had any work done.

This instantly made me think of Rob Lowe playing Liberace's cosmetic surgeon in Under The Candelabra Grin - suspect a surgeon who looked like Jocelyn Wildenstein may put potential patients off a bit...

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 10:02

I feel sorry for actors because they can't win. They won't get hired if they age naturally. Women have it worse but it applies to men too, especially if they lose their hair.

I was watching Fearless with Helen McCrory and every woman over 40 in it has clearly had work done. But I can't blame them if that's what it takes..

Bluntness100 · 27/06/2017 10:04

Conversely, a shit load of fillers and not an ounce of puffiness in sight...

Speaking of men who have got the hair dye thing wrong, I just spotted my old friend Silvio Berlusconi on the BBC site. The man is 80 years old and his "hair" consists of a black painted on affair, wtaf!!!
Again, nobody around to tell him that he looks like a bloody clown.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 10:07

Have to say, Angelina looks awesome!!!

ArtemisiaGentilleschi · 27/06/2017 10:11

But she is starting to form that generic lifted and filled look I think?

Paul McCartney's hair is tragic. Mr Grecian 2000.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 10:14

Yes, Angelina must stop now, and not be tempted to go down the Wildenstein route. She looks just about right I'd say, the lips are luscious enough already Ange.

HeyRoly · 27/06/2017 10:15

I couldn't figure out why Simon Cowell's entire head seems to have increased in size, and then I realised it was fillers.

Carol Vorderman is a particularly good example of the massive hamster cheek look.

I know the entertainment industry is brutal and no woman over the age of 40 is allowed to look their age, but this shit isn't the answer.

Interesting to see that Courteney Cox has come out recently and discussed her extensive use of fillers and her decision to have some of it removed. Her mouth does look more like her old mouth now.

And changing the subject slightly, I had to leave the Mrs Gloss FB group because I was so disturbed by the normalisation of fillers and how many really young women are getting fillers in their lips.

Bluntness100 · 27/06/2017 10:16

And another one, with a list of what she's probably had done.

Lunchtime agreed, that's why it's so important to find and stick with a practitioner who is dragonlike in what they'll allow Grin
I talk myself out of literally thousands of pounds to avoid putting my name to unnecessary work. The amount of body dysmorphia we see is staggering. I prefer to concentrate me efforts on that before injecting people.

123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 10:17

Isn't it a wonder that Stella the designer won't intervene and design a suitable hair do for her old Pa?

provider5sectorzz9 · 27/06/2017 10:18

The very wealthy men with bad hair dye jobs is a mystery I agree
Why can they get it right??
🤔

WingMirrorSpider · 27/06/2017 10:24

Tom Cruise is looking decidedly hamsterish these days too.

Tom Cruise is definitely having more and more work done, thought he looked strange on Graham Norton the other week. It must be so tough working in show business, brutal.

OP posts:
123MothergotafleA · 27/06/2017 10:29

But Tom's got the hair do right, his dye job is almost undetectable.

WingMirrorSpider · 27/06/2017 10:33

Yes it must be tough when films of you in your gorgeous, youthful prime are being forever repeated on TV. I struggle to look at photos of me from my youth when I was not stunning but I was unlined and fresh faced, but if those pictures were seen by millions and held up as some beacon of beauty it must be much harder to just let it slide in middle age and grow old naturally.

Bluntness100 · 27/06/2017 10:34

Tom cruise got it right for a long time, I think he has a surgeon in South Africa or something who is renowned for being excellent, but he's went too far, the recent work on him I think looks creepy. he looks a ton better here.

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 10:34

Yes almost full marks to Tom for the hair -though allowing a few strands of grey would look even better.

My hairdresser says that men's dye jobs look awful because hair dyes are designed for women whose hair is naturally shinier than men's - so the effect looks unnatural on men. But, in that case, why doesn't someone market a non-shiny version? Maybe they do and TC is a customer..

shinynewusername · 27/06/2017 10:36

And when the Daily fucking Mail and other media are constantly printing close ups of you either "looking older" or with snide headlines about you "looking youthful" to point out the work you have had.
