Speeding · 23/06/2017 16:08

Sorry I am posting here for traffic.

Is there anyway I can check if I got a speeding ticket before it comes in the post?

Thank-you in advance.

You won’t be able to check in advance but it should arrive within 2-3 days if you have. When do you think you were clocked?

blueskyinmarch · 23/06/2017 16:12

Ooh that website is good! I never knew about it.

wineusuallyhelps · 23/06/2017 16:15

Fieryfighter nice one Grin

WarriorsDance · 23/06/2017 16:16

Why did I click on that stupid fucking link posted by @fieryfighter Sad

I need to run a virus check now.

(it said I have a pending ticket from Portsmouth but I haven't been there for years - utter bullshit)

neddle · 23/06/2017 16:16

That's not very funny. Almost made me cry thinking we'd another huge expense we can't afford.

Fieryfighter · 23/06/2017 16:18

I'm so so sorry, genuine mistake I got the link from moneysupermarket.com, thought it would be fine from there and tested it myself!

Huge apologies will ask for deletion

Fieryfighter · 23/06/2017 16:20

I've reported my post, I honestly thought it was fine from a reputable source and even checked my own reg and nothing came up. I'm a twat sorry.

blueskyinmarch · 23/06/2017 16:22

I checked my reg too and nothing came up.

strugglingstepdad · 23/06/2017 16:29

If it's over 14 days then your probably safe as it has to arrive with you within 14 days of the alleged offence :)

Speeding · 23/06/2017 16:31

Eek!

I think it was around midnight by a hidden police van on a dual carriageway.

I didn't see it, I just saw the car next to me slow down quickly and then two flashes behind me so I'm reaaaallllly hoping someone was flashing their lights but I think it could be a ticket.

Why the police don't have something better to do I don't know.

Yes I know I shouldn't have been speeding but I am a professional driver and haven't had a ticket in 16 years and am classed as a very safe driver so am a bit gutted.

I don't even normally speed but I'd left work early to go home to my poorly child. 😔

"Why the police don't have something better to do I don't know."

you know speeding kills?

(yep been there did the course instead of points)

blueskyinmarch · 23/06/2017 16:34

I have only had one speeding ticket in my life and it was police on a dual carriageway. What speed limit was it and what do you think you were doing?

3000 roads deaths per year is a perfectly good reason for that

Yes I know I shouldn't have been speeding but I am a professional driver
So you should know better

classed as a very safe driver
Even when speeding?

to go home to my poorly child
Is that your best excuse?

Littlecaf · 23/06/2017 16:37

When I got a speeding ticket I felt outraged that me, yes, me could get one!

Then I realised I needed to pay up, stop speeding and get over it.

You deserve everything you get.

Angrybird123 · 23/06/2017 16:39

Go on the course and they will explain exactly why they spend time doing this and everyone on the course will explain they are only there because they were 'just' doing x.

Jellybean85 · 23/06/2017 16:40

Let's hope you did get a ticket. Might make you stop and think for a moment about how safe a driver you really are Hmm

Newjob12345 · 23/06/2017 16:43

Ignore the preachers OP. It happens to the best of us.
Suck it up and drive within the limit from now on.

Redglitter · 23/06/2017 16:44

Why the police don't have something better to do I don't know

What like detecting people who are committing an offence? Oh wait.....

Speeding · 23/06/2017 16:45

Speeding does NOT kill.
Dangerous driving kills.

Ask Richard Hammond if you don't believe me 😂

Thank-you to the people who offered the USEFUL answers.
