What DO you like doing in the heat?

As a change from the threads moaning about the heat, let's have one about the things we like doing, or are looking forward to. No moaning about downsides allowed, there are many other threads for that! Grin

Some of mine are:

Being barefoot in the garden.
Relaxing in the paddling pool. (We have an adult-sized one!)
Swimming outdoors - I'm especially fond of Hampstead ponds.

Sitting in the shade reading a book.

moutonfou · 17/06/2017 21:23

Being able to potentially wear only one layer of clothing (I'm always cold Grin )

ShelaghTurner · 17/06/2017 21:27

Nothing. Lying in a dark room in front of a fan and looking at photos of snow.

ShelaghTurner · 17/06/2017 21:28

Oops sorry, didn't read the op properly!

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 17/06/2017 21:28

Wearing lovely summer dresses and my tiny shorts Smile

Grimbles · 17/06/2017 21:30

Not worrying about covering up my flabby bits because everyone one else has theirs out too Grin

ItsAHardKn0ckLife · 17/06/2017 21:30

Shelagh you are my kindred spirit Grin

thenightsky · 17/06/2017 21:30

Getting my lovely little convertible car out. Me and DS had a great whizz round the countryside today.

bigchris · 17/06/2017 21:31

Same as sparkling

Brittbugs80 · 17/06/2017 21:32

Reading and eating and being in the garden. But I'm always looking forward to September onwards, the best time of year!

claraelsa · 17/06/2017 21:32

Getting in the pool without breaking the ice first

ToothTrauma · 17/06/2017 21:33

For the first time this year we have a garden and some patio furniture and a big parasol. It's a revelation: I now like to sit and sip a cool drink and watch DDog play in his paddling pool.

BandeauSally · 17/06/2017 21:34

Tanning.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 17/06/2017 21:34

Everything! I love the heat & am miserable in the cold.

My favourite thing is just feeling the heat on my skin. Well, that & the smell of suntan lotion Grin.

ChocChocPorridge · 17/06/2017 21:35

I live in a hot country on purpose - I wander around wearing as little as I can get away with (basically depends on whether I expect to have to answer the door!), occasionally have a blast of air-conditioning, and generally feel good about never having to remember wellies and woolly hat.

Littlecaf · 17/06/2017 21:36

Ice lollies in the garden with feet in paddling pool.

Pre child I enjoyed lying on a beach with friends, drinking, reading, BBQ, wandering to a pub to continue in the beer garden.

Sigh.

Dahlietta · 17/06/2017 21:40

I think maybe I actually do quite like complaining about the heat. Nothing else.

Arealhumanbeing · 17/06/2017 21:42

OP I always think of Hampstead ponds when the weather is like this. Sadly I live miles away!

I love beer gardens and a good BBQ. The smell of flowers in the evening when the heat has been on them all day. The inevitable thunder storm is a high point too (pluviophile). Smile

Sandsnake · 17/06/2017 21:42

An excuse for drinking in the day.Grin

NameChanger22 · 17/06/2017 21:42

I like cycling, it's nice and breezy.

ILoveDolly · 17/06/2017 21:43

Eating outside
Nice glass of wine watching the sun going down
Walks by a river
Driving around with all the Windows down in the country

Birdsbeesandtrees · 17/06/2017 21:43

Tanning.

Birdsbeesandtrees · 17/06/2017 21:44

Lying around my house naked.

Bambamrubblesmum · 17/06/2017 21:45

Dreaming about treating myself to a hammock...

Salad cream.
Growing veg
Drinking tea outside in the morning
Watching the kids play in the garden

Iamastonished · 17/06/2017 21:45

Everything here too.

I love not having to layer up, not needing to wear socks, being able to go out for the day and not even needing to take a cardigan or jumper, wearing my lovely summer clothes.

I love pottering in the garden and being able to line dry clothes. I love the long light evenings and higher light levels

I hate winter, miserable gloomy days and long dark nights and driving to and from work in the dark. And most of all I hate being cold.
