I disagree; he's holding up better than TM did.

Jupitar · 02/06/2017 21:43

Nope I think the next women summed it up with "why's everyone so keen to kill millions of people"

fuckwitery · 02/06/2017 21:44

I think she saved him. He was floundering and lost his spiel.

OP posts:
c3pu · 02/06/2017 21:44

Trident hasn't killed millions of people though

Domino20 · 02/06/2017 21:45

Well he was right up to the point that the next audience member expressed dismay that so many other audience members were advocating the murder of millions.

WhooooAmI24601 · 02/06/2017 21:45

"why's everyone so keen to kill millions of people" Jupitar exactly, why were they pushing him to accept he'd have to press the button first; it makes no sense to be the first person to resorts to nuclear weapons.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 02/06/2017 21:45

I think he's coming across like he's thinking things through rather than using pre prepared sound bites tbh., and I'm not particularly a fan.

May came across terribly, her answers bore no relation to the questions.

Mummamayhem · 02/06/2017 21:45

Only because of the audience imo. I think he's right. Nuclear weapons should be an absolute last resort which will kill millions, destroy the planet and increase nuclear war world wide. Who would want a prime minister who was keen to play god and press the button first?

HoneyDragon · 02/06/2017 21:46

Let's vote for the lady in the audience. She's handling this better than David, Teresa and Jeremy.

Domino20 · 02/06/2017 21:47

I don't think he was floundering, clearly working on the principle that if you have nothing polite to say, say nothing.

SmileEachDay · 02/06/2017 21:47

I wonder if he misheard the man who asked about sitting next to a massive arsenal.

I genuinely thought he said "sitting next to a massive arsehole" Confused

I think JC did ok, it's always going to be a decisive one.

fuckwitery · 02/06/2017 21:48

But the only point at which trident remains a deterrent, and effective, .and which has kept world peace for decades, and we are one of the few nations that retains the entire globes trust in that matter, is if someone is willing to stand up and say they will be a first responder.

Or am I missing something... again?

LittleWingSoul · 02/06/2017 21:48

Goading him into saying he'd push the button after 30 years of CND?! I cheered that young lady, she spoke the truth and yes, rescued him from some angry tories.

DarkFloodRises · 02/06/2017 21:49

I think he's coming across well tbh. I'm not a Labour voter but I'm feeling swayed!

PlayOnWurtz · 02/06/2017 21:49

He's a twat.

PossomInAPearTree · 02/06/2017 21:51

I think he came across well.

He said he wouldn't press it first. He wouldn't commit either way to whether he would press it in defence.

He seemed to say he wouldn't get rid of Trident unless other countries also got rid of theirs. Sensible.

He emphasised how he wanted to build better relations with other countries, getting a dialogue going, etc. Again sensible.

May was shockingly bad.

nina2b · 02/06/2017 21:51

Rubbish.

Domino20 · 02/06/2017 21:52

Fucking fuck red button fuckwittery!

SmileEachDay · 02/06/2017 21:53

Why is he "a twat" Play?

nina2b · 02/06/2017 21:53

To this:
Today 21:49 PlayOnWurtz

He's a twat.

ghostyslovesheets · 02/06/2017 21:54

yes not wanting to kill millions is the threat to our safety NOT cutting the police and armed forces to the bone ...

PlayOnWurtz · 02/06/2017 21:54

Trident

nina2b · 02/06/2017 21:54

And I don't even vote Labour. He is pretty good.

SmileEachDay · 02/06/2017 21:55

Play you're not being very articulate dear, you ok?
