Can people pls post about their terrible guest experiences?

I'm bored and I love hearing them!! ( yes... AIBU!!)

I'm sure there was a thread about this a couple of years ago, might be in classics it was so good, some of the stories were outrageous!

Not a terrible guest experience in my house but I was a guest at my friends and it was an awful 2 days. She was in a stroppy mood the whole time and just couldn't bring herself to snap out of it.
She went to bed at 10pm the first night leaving me with the clearing up from our evening meal. Second night we had been out for an early dinner and by 8.30 she was asleep on the sofa.
I hadn't seen her for ages before then so was really looking forward to it but in the end I couldn't wait to leave. I haven't been back!

One couple staying the weekend the guy kept going on about how much I spent on food and how much I wasted money, how ridiculous it was, and that I should have served left overs for dinner from the night before instead of cooking another meal for our guests,,,, whilst shovelling down his dinner.

When they left they had not only not made the bed, the quilt was hanging off the bed in th floor, the used towels were also thrown across the bed room floor, there was used crunchy tissues in the bed, and the bedroom furniture had been shifted out of place.

Our other friends visiting at the time said they felt he was doing it to prove a point, he felt we were "rich" and he wished to show his disdain for the fact we were financially better off than him (not rich) by treating our home as he would a hotel and ensuring I had to clear up his mess.

Needless to say we've not had them back.

Our guest asked if we had any nail clippers as she had a lose nail. She proceeded to cut all her nails over the lounge floor and then left them there! I had to sweep the up myself

Can a 14 month old be a guest?

A few nights ago an acquaintance asked me if I could watch her baby for a short while (in an emergency) and even though I'd never looked after him before and he had no idea who I was I said yes to help her out.

She dropped him off with 2 nappies, a bottle of water and a pair of jeans (?) and then didn't return for 5 hours.

He'd been disagnosed with a chest infection that day, was feverish and unwell, cranky, crying, wanting his mom and having no idea who I was and he was shattered as she didn't come for him until 9pm (dropped him off at 4pm) where at that point he'd passed out on the sofa.

During his time with me I had no idea what to feed him, whether to bath him, how to stop him from crying, how to comfort him whilst unwell (due to me being a stranger and him not wanting me) and I was dealing with this with my own crazy 3 year old running amok and being 28 weeks pregnant and unwell.

It was not fun!!!

Had a guest ask if I was into partner sharing as she quite fancied my OH and then proceeded to lock herself in the spare room for 3 days and had a takeaway delivered through the window!

I've never had, nor been a houseguest, and these threads always make me very very glad of that fact

Had my husband's (since) ex boss to stay so they could travel to airport together the next day. He arrived at 9pm as arranged, declaring he hadn't eaten so I had to start cooking. He also announced that he had had terrible diarrhoea for a few days and repeatedly dashed to and from toilet.
Obvs I was delighted at the prospect of both DC catching this, especially with DH away and an important work event looming for me.
He went to loo several times in night, slept with his bedroom door wide open snoring very loudly, and when he'd gone I found duvet flung on floor.
The next hour was spent with antibacterial spray everywhere.

A friend was going to a Scottish reeling ball. Someone dropped out of their party so their group was mismatched, so she phoned me as a last min replacement. I flew from London to Oban.
When I got there another person (a chap) had also dropped out, so she no longer needed me to balance numbers. She asked me to leave. I told her (vehemently) that having only just arrived at her invitation, I was staying. So she didn't give me a bed, so I slept on the drawing room floor and she asked me to pay her for lodgings.
(I enjoyed the ball!)

Had a friend of Dh and his new mrs stay. Both proceeded to get blindingly drunk and wouldn't go to bed until 2am, fine except I was pregnant and suffering.

Waved them off the next day and then went straight out ourselves intending to strip the bed and put a wash on later.

Get a text later that day whilst still out from dh's friend admitting he'd wet himself in the night from being so drunk. Was apparently too embarrassed to say anything to our faces. They hadn't stripped the bed. So I returned 12 hours later to a piss soaked sheet and mattress.

The new DH of my oldest friend left shit covered boxers in the bed. He was not even vaguely embarrassed when told. He insisted on making a meal. The chicken was raw, he tasted and used the same teaspoon multiple times in his salad dressing. He went off in town to look at suits, came back half an hour later shitfaced. Turns out he was a raging alcoholic.

Mine was my best friend who was mean to be saying for a week at Christmas coming from abroad.
We rearranged elderly relatives and turned down invitations to accommodate her and her husband. Spoke to her a week before about some plans.

She never showed - evidentially got a better off and didn't think to tell me - rang me 5 days later, wanted to pop round then and there 'for 5 minutes' was pissed at me for not accommodating her.

I'm not her friend now - she obvs didn't think she did anything wrong as tried to invite herself again - and then offered to meet me in another country and me and DH could pay for the accommodation.... fuck right off....

About 10 weeks of with DS1 (now 19). Working 60 hours a week split shifts at a busy seaside pub.

Living in 1 bed attic flat with ex.

Ex BFF cane for weekend with new BF (eventually married and divorced him).

Got in from work on my split shift they were in the bath together "casting spells" and they just basically shagged all over our flat all weekend making us feel awkward and uncomfortable. We still in bed in the front room (naked) when we got in at 3pm every etc and just used us for a free dirty weekend.

Wish I had told her to fuck of then actually rather than continuing the friendship for another 18 years.

Distant family member's wife and DD and DS come to visit during the hottest Summer I have experienced. Upon arrival wife announces the DS has had diarrhoea all the way on the train, my Dsis immediately gets to a chemist...whilst the woman proceeds to ask personal questions about our family. The daughter is wearing velvet...in that weather, even slept in it.
The woman tries to take over whilst my DF cooking for me, as 'It is a girl's job to learn how to cook'... This from the woman who cracked an egg, half spills on floor and she pretends it is because her DS only likes 'half an egg omelettes' !
This was when you could get teeny tiny M'n'Ms in little plastic tubes...after 'grabbing' 6 tubes from our local shop, he proceeded to mash them into our carpet...we found tiny M'n'Ms for ages after in random places. Oh the stay included a trip to the seaside when he vomited continuously, in the car and over the promenade, in between throwing ketchup coated chips at random people!
The room they stayed in just stank of B.O, ended up redecorating. There were plenty of gems from the stay but it is an episode I try not to think about

Oh I forgot, I invited a senior colleague round for dinner, he got pissed before I served rhe food, ate his starter, then when I served up his pasta for his main, didn't even try it, put the whole plate under the table and fed it to our dog from the plate (I come from an Italian family and it was good pasta) when he left, he fell off the front door step and rolled like a tele tubby on the ground as both my husband and I stood at the front door watching him in bemusement rolling around on the ground laughing.

Didn't invite him back either and neither of us mentioned it at work.

Oh and DH and I stayed with family who told us we use too much toilet paper! Clearly we are bad guests haha

Years ago an old friend turned up at my house with her new puppy. Puppy then proceeded to piss and shit all over my house, because it wasn't house trained. Worst bit was my friend didn't seem overly fussed about it, and made a really poor attempt at cleaning it up. It was grim.

Not saying who (outing) but I have a regular houseguest who always seems to be on her period and can't find the bin. I have to do a sweep after she goes, I've even found rolled up pads behind the radiator. Tbh this is just the iceberg tip of her weirdness but deffo the ickiest. We are reducing her visits in a very British PA way (dodging calls mostly).

bluntness Why would you be upset with a guest not making the bed?! Presumably you'd strip it immediately anyway

Not a horror story, but a mystery. Our besties stay regularly and I honestly wouldn't change that for the world. But...

They. Use. Soooo. Much. Looroll!

We will go through a 9-pack over a 2 night stay (would normally last us 2 weeks). I don't give a shit, I make sure we have plenty, it's gone on too long to ask, but I'm baffled!
