To hate the current trend for huge, unnatural slug like eyebrows?

I should say I colour in my eyebrows because they are really fair and if I don't it looks like I don't have any brows at all, but I'm always careful to use a natural colour. What I really hate is this fad for these awful, huge, dark, slug like eyebrows that make the wearer look like an angry bird.

Who on earth thought that it was a good look? The person who who came up with it should be shot. I think it's one of those fashion crazes that in years to come we will look back on cringe at, and think 'what the hell were people thinking'?

Surely these women who paint these hideous monstrosities on their faces don't honestly think it looks good?

I think they are ugly as fuck but women can do what they like to their own faces.

MarmaladeSoup · 05/05/2017 09:27

They can indeed do what they like to their own faces, but dont they realise how awful and unnatural it looks?

They like it, obviously. Up to them.

Kokusai · 05/05/2017 09:29

I like it... means my actual slug eyebrows don't look so bad!

GuinessPunch · 05/05/2017 09:30

I look at pics of me in teens and i have really skinny over plucked brows. Just the current fad!

Maudlinmaud · 05/05/2017 09:30

Thats over now, it's all about the fade these days.

Gottagetmoving · 05/05/2017 09:31

It does look stupid but those are the ones that are over done. The women who do them properly look lovely.
I can't criticise really,..when I was a young teenager we must to draw eyelashes under our lower lashes, that went down our bloody cheeks!
No wonder my Dad used to collapse laughing when he saw me going out.

Firenight · 05/05/2017 09:34

YANBU

But to each their own. I don't see them too often in central London so have to catch myself from staring when they do cross my path.

upperlimit · 05/05/2017 09:36

Me too Kokusai. It's nice that I have been temporarily shunted into the middle of the eye brow bell curve Grin

LadySalmakia · 05/05/2017 09:43

I think they look great on some faces - the problem is like all fads people just do them indiscriminately and then some people look mad and others look great.

Personally I am very irritated atm because I'd been cultivating giant brows for ages then a threader (I know, should have stuck to the person I know) massacred them. I mean they look fine but they're all early 2000s again. WOE.

user1493022461 · 05/05/2017 09:45

They don't look great on anyone.

JaneJeffer · 05/05/2017 09:47

I wish they had been in style when I was younger because I had naturally thick dark eyebrows when those thin 90's ones were in and I would never have been able to get that look. They're going grey now Sad

user1489179512 · 05/05/2017 09:48

There must be some sort of eyebrow blindness going on. Those things make the wearer look ridiculous. Combine it with the ghastly face shaping and you resemble a grubby-faced, monochrome clown.

Blowingthroughthejasmineinmymi · 05/05/2017 09:49

Yes, although it suits some girls others look silly,

I hate all trends, do what looks best for you, not whats on trend!

BlindAssassin1 · 05/05/2017 09:52

YANBU plus the shit-smear of a rush job with contouring looks awful. Yep, people will look back with shock and horror that they did this to themselves.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 05/05/2017 09:53

I just find them funny.

They look ridiculous on most people I have to say. I find it really hard not to stare sometimes!

Lindsay Lohan and the dangers of contouring!

It's only some who do them to those extremes, and yes they do look dreadful. Has the tide changed as they seem to be more 'normal' lately.

kaitlinktm · 05/05/2017 10:00

I woman in Tesco really startled me yesterday - she looked like Ming the Merciless. Grin

Thekitten · 05/05/2017 10:00

I've got thick dark eyebrows, so I'm really thankful for this trend so I don't have to pluck as much!

If only the messy unibrow was a trend...
