To hate the current trend for huge, unnatural slug like eyebrows?

I should say I colour in my eyebrows because they are really fair and if I don't it looks like I don't have any brows at all, but I'm always careful to use a natural colour. What I really hate is this fad for these awful, huge, dark, slug like eyebrows that make the wearer look like an angry bird.

Who on earth thought that it was a good look? The person who who came up with it should be shot. I think it's one of those fashion crazes that in years to come we will look back on cringe at, and think 'what the hell were people thinking'?

Surely these women who paint these hideous monstrosities on their faces don't honestly think it looks good?

Got mine done this morning. I'm glad I changed salons as I used to come out looking like a villain from a cartoon, think really thick jet black dare I say it slugs on my face Shock which would then go a funny ginger colour. I was never happy with them but kept going back as she did my facials etc. Today I'm happy, brows are still quite thick but not black, which is great because I'm fucking ash blonde Grin

Teens are obsessed with their eyebrows. I think it's something to do with the selfie thing as the filters they use make them look like models in photos but in person they look truly scary.

I work in a school and am baffled daily by the girl's eyebrows. Some of them are enormous. Apparently they are 'on fleek.' I think I'm getting old Grin

katiegoestoaldi · 05/05/2017 15:59

Ugh they drive me mad! My teen insists on having the fugly thick, OTT ones, she can do them lovely and more in proportion but she insists they look better when they're taking over half her forehead Confused

MyheartbelongstoG · 05/05/2017 16:04

How do you attach a pic?

SymphonyofShadows · 05/05/2017 16:12

There is a woman who works in a clothes shop near me who must use a marker pen to do hers. It looks so awful, unnatural and badly drawn and I've overheard other customers ridiculing it. I can't understand why people who work with her aren't gently telling her. Perhaps they are and she ignores it. If I gave a toddler a sharpie they could do a much better job, it's that bad.

MyheartbelongstoG · 05/05/2017 16:13

I think I do a pretty good job on mine. I have no choice to draw them on as I have no natural eyebrows.

I have very thick, dark brows, I am delighted by this trend.

It now takes a fraction of the time to thread them - they used to be crouched over me industriously harvesting them for about quarter of an hour. Now it's a quick zip with the thread to neaten the shape and all done.

I expect the next trend will be for ridiculously thin brows, so I am just enjoying this one while it lasts!

Woody67 · 05/05/2017 16:19

They look ridiculous. I'm not a fan of big bushy beards either. Especially around food. One day the wearers will look back and laugh and say"what was i thinking". I do when i see photos of me from the 80's.

HeyRoly · 05/05/2017 16:21

One of the reasons I left the Mrs Gloss group on FB was because this girl kept posting selfies with her ridiculously massive, really badly drawn on eyebrows, and no one had the guts to tell her that she looked like she was mentally ill.

So although I accept they're in fashion and they can look good if done right, there IS a limit Grin

Nothing's new under the sun - picture is of Elizabeth Taylor.

I want Liz Taylor's eyebrows, I've tried to grow them like that for years but they won't

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 05/05/2017 21:45

^ I want Liz Taylor's eyes^...so beautiful.

Trivia Factoid:
A genetic condition gave her a double row of those amazing thick, dark lashes. Shock

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 05/05/2017 21:50

Myheart,

Look good (nice colour eyes, also).
I believe those in the know would deem your brows "on fleek" Wink

OlennasWimple · 05/05/2017 21:54

Only babies should have drawn on eyebrows.... Grin

MyheartbelongstoG · 06/05/2017 16:28

Thank you Thalia!
