I've been rumbled, cold Baked Beans.

DH is home from work with a sickness bug and he caught me with my secret snack which I have most afternoons before he gets home - baked beans, cold, straight from the tin with little chunks of extra mature cheddar cheese stirred in.
He thinks it's disgusting. I think it's heaven in a tin. I said everyone has a secret 'gross food' they love, he says they don't!

Who's being unreasonable here!? Grin
I've always hidden it from him, probably because deep down I know it's a bit different.
What are your sneaky snacks that no one knows about?

Peanut m&ms in the mouth then drinking creamy vegetable cup of soup (with croutons Grin). Tastes lovely all mixed together in the mouth. Grin

Not disgusting, but My absolute food heaven are Beef or Chicken Koka noodles, and Noodle butties.
TDF to die for.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/05/2017 00:51

I also love dipping things into yoghurt such as apples oranges biscuits.

YellowBucket · 04/05/2017 01:14

Mine is a pack of squashed cheese & onion crisps, mixed with grated mature cheese and eaten with a spoon. Occasionally served between 2 slices of toast.
DH was bemused until he tried it. He now ruins serves his with the addition of a crushed bag of Salt and Vinegar.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/05/2017 01:16

I.also tuna pasta sprinkled with salt and vinegar crisps.

hunibuni · 04/05/2017 01:19

DCs go for lettuce with jam, as in iceberg lettuce used like slices of bread Confused They also like crisps and chocolate together (which is quite nice). According to them, avocado halves with soy sauce in the hole eaten over the sink while squshing ham in my gob is "gross ".

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/05/2017 01:21

Huni, your dcs win the thead. Grin

tobee · 04/05/2017 01:25

Crisps & chocolate is great - specially chocolate fingers - takes me right back to birthday party teas.

Cold baked beans are excellent - also hot with lots of English mustard.

Crisp sandwiches are very dangerous.

notangelinajolie · 04/05/2017 01:35

I so should not have read this thread. I now need beans and we don't have any in the cupboard. I could live off Heinz beans quite happily. I love days when it's only me for tea because I get to eat my favourite food. Also love Bachelors chip shop peas with curry sauce, black pepper and vinegar v heavy on the vinegar no chips needed.

Cold baked beans straight from the tin always reminds me of my childhood in the 1970's watching the Liver Birds.]

Cold tinned spaghetti Confused

73kittycat73 · 04/05/2017 01:53

Cold beans with mint sauce and salad cream. Or cold beans, pickled onions (Sometimes sweetcorn.) and salad cream. Total comfort food. Grin

Hidingtonothing · 04/05/2017 02:11

A bag of cheesy wotsits tipped into (hot) Heinz cream of chicken soup. Discovered as a child and only indulged in on the very rare occasions I am home alone Blush

DixieFlatline · 04/05/2017 02:35

Rice pudding is cold as standard in a few countries. I feel like I appreciate the flavour more when various things are cold, e.g. custard as well. Smile And isn't an oxo cube hot drink basically Bovril? Not sure I'm a fan of the idea, but a friend used to like it.

hula008 · 04/05/2017 07:09

A tortilla with American cheese inside, rolled up and microwaved until melty. 😏

notaflyingmonkey · 04/05/2017 07:13

Cold baked beans with hummous. Feels middle class, therefore totally acceptable.

I think I might try it with feta as well, now that I have been introduced to pairing it with cheese.

FritzDonovan · 04/05/2017 07:19

Another one given oxo hot water as a kid. Can't persuade mine it's tasty at all.
We do have a family thing of jam on cheese-on-toast. DH thinks it's gross Grin

Coffeetasteslikeshit · 04/05/2017 07:25

Cold baked beans are not weird, as long as they're Heinz. I love cold baked beans!

The only snack I hide is pot noodles, I don't want anyone else nabbing them.

Oysterbabe · 04/05/2017 07:25

Pork pies are the gross food I secretly love. With ketchup.

newmumma2016 · 04/05/2017 07:35

Golden syrup sandwiches!!! Smile

Legma37 · 04/05/2017 07:41

Hot Heinz baked beans with mint sauce mixed in

Wreckingball25 · 04/05/2017 07:44

Toasted sesame bagel with marmite and cream cheese. I was appalled when my (South African) pal made it front of me but now I have at least one a day. Baby wrecking ball is made of marmite!

Derlei · 04/05/2017 07:47

A cheese&onion or sausage roll in a sandwich with a few baked beans and mayonnaise inside with it. Divine

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 04/05/2017 07:57

Toast and Bovril (with lots of butter). My DD was reared on Bovril, and I still make her some toast and Bovril as a treat (she's 40 this year... Shock ). I also put a bit of Bovril under the cheese when I make cheese on toast - it tastes heavenly....
I haven't had a sugar sandwich since I was a child, when it was a standard snack to keep us going between coming home from school and our evening meal. But on the other hand, at the same time I developed my love for that food of the gods - bread (or toast) and dripping - with lots of salt... Mmmmmmm..!!!! I still save any juices from meat, and treat myself to this from time to time Blush

Rossigigi · 04/05/2017 08:59

Beams on toast with mayo- don't knock it until you've tried it!

BillyButtfuck · 04/05/2017 09:01

Golden syrup sandwiches Shock how did anyone discover that concoction!?
