I've been rumbled, cold Baked Beans.

DH is home from work with a sickness bug and he caught me with my secret snack which I have most afternoons before he gets home - baked beans, cold, straight from the tin with little chunks of extra mature cheddar cheese stirred in.
He thinks it's disgusting. I think it's heaven in a tin. I said everyone has a secret 'gross food' they love, he says they don't!

Who's being unreasonable here!? Grin
I've always hidden it from him, probably because deep down I know it's a bit different.
What are your sneaky snacks that no one knows about?

Cold beans are the food of the gods

watchoutformybutt · 03/05/2017 19:17

Why do I always read these threads?! I feel quite nauseous now. I kinda wish I had a weird food thing though.

angieloumc · 03/05/2017 19:18

Cold baked beans makes me retch but each to their own. My secret favourite is a Seabrook's cheese and onion crisp sandwich but only on small white Warburton's bread with a little butter.

HermioneJeanGranger · 03/05/2017 19:18

Mmm sugar sandwiches! I've not had one in years.

I love ketchup sandwiches on crusty white bread with salted butter.

Or bacon supernoodles with butter and cheese.

Broccolifeatures · 03/05/2017 19:22

Yes, cold baked beans, cheese chunks and mayonnaise. Mmmmmm.

Fletchasaurus · 03/05/2017 19:23

Smash mixed with cheese and sometimes beans, the ultimate comfort food!

RedBugMug · 03/05/2017 19:24

but but but... if they are cold, how does the tablespoon knob of butter melt?

bakedbeansandtuna · 03/05/2017 19:24

I love them.

AND with tuna, can't you guess...!!

Plain pasta with baked beans mixed in.. Blush
Everyone that has seen me eat it has highly disapproved been disgusted. Strangely when I'm pregnant I hate beans with a passion (currently pregnant), so I'm missing my little treat.

SophieGiroux · 03/05/2017 19:28

Most of these sound vile!
I like making flapjack or cake mixture and eating it raw but don't think it's that weird

pinkdelight · 03/05/2017 19:29

I used to love cold beans on super noodles with a garnish of pickled beetroot. It's been a while but just typing that tempts me to indulge again...

ExplodedCloud · 03/05/2017 19:34

Cheese singles. Rolled up and stuffed in my mouth in one go.

MrsPringles · 03/05/2017 19:36

Baked beans (hot or cold) are grim and should be BANNED! Envy

topcat2014 · 03/05/2017 19:40

Couldn't manage cold beans - but will eat cold tinned rice pudding - especially economy Aldi brand..

DW thinks it is beyond gross.

QuiteLikely5 · 03/05/2017 19:40

Crab sticks with primula cheese squeezed down them mmmmm

goodnessidontknow · 03/05/2017 19:40

"Oxo cube + hot water in a mug. To drink.
If I'm feeling super decadent, a slab of strong cheese to dip into it."

I was just going to post that my secret is gravy! In a mug with bread to dip in like soup. When you're cold through and need something really quick there is nothing better.

Asmoto · 03/05/2017 19:41

QuiteLikely Ooh, Primula cheese! I eat it straight from the tube given the opportunity.

maxybrown · 03/05/2017 19:42

Cold baked beans here too with vinegar on!

Cagliostro · 03/05/2017 19:43

I'm so boring. My favourite snack is just chocolate. Lots of chocolate. Quite dull really.

Also I realised reading another thread just now that I've never had a pot noodle. I'm 30 and I'm a pot noodle virgin!

happystory · 03/05/2017 19:46

Mine has to involve a supermarket trip, as we don't keep them in the house. Mini Melton Mowbray pies (possibly more then one) eaten in the car before I even leave the car park...

Redken24 · 03/05/2017 19:46

Not sure if mine is weird enough but I like leftover chicken gravy on hot dogs in a baguette .. :)

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 03/05/2017 19:47

terrible white sliced bread, thick with butter, and slathered in saladcream.

Mrsknackered · 03/05/2017 19:48

Bombay bad boy pot noodle on cheap buttered white bread. Amazing. My old housemates were horrified when I pulled that one out the bag!

Bubblysqueak · 03/05/2017 19:58

Thought of another one, apple sauce on crackers. If I'm in company I will add cheese to make it more normal.

MiddlingMum · 03/05/2017 20:01

Mushy peas on toast with black pepper and balsamic vinegar. Actually, put that way, it sounds a lot posher than it actually is Grin
